Overview

Assist with the CCAC governance functions and strategy implementation.

You have:

  • Advanced university degree related to international relations, business administration, development or a related field, is required.
  • A first level university degree combined with additional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience is required.
  • Experience working with high level government officials is required.
  • Knowledge of climate change and climate-related development issues is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel is required.
  • Experience in an international environment is required.
  • Experience in monitoring & evaluation is required.
  • Fluency in English and French is required. Knowledge of an additional UN language is an asset.

The CCAC Programme Manager (Governance) will assist with delivery of the CCAC governance functions, including support to the CCAC Board and Co-Chairs, various decision-making processes, reviews of project proposals, monitoring progress towards the CCAC 2030 Strategy, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

The UNEP-convened Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) is a partnership of governments, intergovernmental organizations, and representatives of the private sector, the environmental community, and other members of civil society. The CCAC is the only international initiative working on integrated climate and clean air solutions to reduce the rate of near-term warming. It focuses on fast action to reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) including methane, black carbon, HFCs and tropospheric ozone. More information about the Global Methane Pledge is here: www.globalmethanepledge.org The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) hosts the Secretariat at the Industry & Economy Division in Paris, France. The CCAC Programme Manager (Governance) will assist with delivery of the CCAC governance functions, including support to the CCAC Board and Co-Chairs, various decision-making processes, reviews of project proposals, monitoring progress towards the CCAC 2030 Strategy, etc. Outputs 1--Advance CCAC governance strategies -Develop papers for consideration/decision by the CCAC Board including related to CCAC Funding, strategic sector workstreams, and funding opportunities -Ensure effective operationalization of newly approved CCAC priorities/workstreams -Convene targeted Funding Committee to identify strategic funding streams in CCAC activities -Support the development of CCAC Work Plan & Budget and consultations for 2026 -Ensure team members are fulfilling and tracking activities in line with the 2025 Work Plan and Budget -Advance implementation of the CCAC Gender Strategy long-term actions -Advance political priorities and high-level political engagement through key forums to advance CCAC priorities and engage partners 2--Resource mobilization and donor relations -Lead on donor engagement activities to encourage new and increased contributions to the CCAC Trust Fund from countries and philanthropies including through high-level events and outreach -Support the development of targeted CCAC project pitches to attract large-scale financing -Ensure effective management of existing contributions including impact reporting to donors and CCAC Board members -Showcase the strategic value of the CCAC funding portfolio in bilateral relationships and communications products 3--Oversee the CCAC funding process -Orient CCAC projects around a results-based measurement approach in line with the CCAC M&E Plan -Ensure grant making is aligned with CCAC strategic priorities and country needs including those identified in the CCAC Work Plan & Budget -Lead CCAC Funding Committee and Board engagement on CCAC Funding including funding recommendations and sector focus areas -Lead internal team on results delivery and process improvements for project funding to maximize CCAC impact 4--Ad Hoc Support for CCAC Activities and Events -Support the planning and execution of major CCAC and GMP events, including high-level Ministerial, regional workshops, and thematic forums. -Support the implementation of the CCAC Gender Strategy, including coordination of gender-focused activities and partner engagement.
