Overview

You have:

  • A first-level university degree in international relations, climate change, environmental policy or sustainability.
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience working is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing briefings and presentations is required.
  • Experience working on short-lived climate pollutants is required.
  • Fluency in English (written and oral) is required. Additional knowledge of other UN official languages is an asset.

Result of Service

Support the effective coordination and delivery of CCAC governance activities, including the CCAC Annual Meeting, the Clean Air Flagship, and CCAC Hubs, ensuring well-organized meetings, strengthened stakeholder engagement, and timely implementation of programme priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities

The UNEP-convened Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) is a partnership of governments, intergovernmental organizations, and representatives of the private sector, the environmental community, and other members of civil society. The CCAC is the only international initiative working on integrated climate and clean air solutions to reduce the rate of near-term warming. It focuses on fast action to reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) including methane, black carbon, HFCs and tropospheric ozone. More information about the Global Methane Pledge is here: www.globalmethanepledge.org The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) hosts the Secretariat at the Industry & Economy Division in Paris, France. The CCAC Secretariat is seeking a “Junior Programme Manager” to support the Coalition’s governance work, including assistance to the CCAC Annual Meeting and the Clean Air Flagship, as well as to support CCAC Hubs. Objectives / responsilbities: 1. Support the delivery of CCAC governance processes in support of the Annual Meeting, Board and Funding Committee 2. Contribute to the timely preparation and submission of donor reports 3. Maintain and update tracking tools and contact database related to CCAC stakeholders 4. Update the Air Quality Management Platform (AQMx) in support of the Clean Air Flagship 5. Prepare high quality draft documents including agendas and meeting summaries 6. Provide ad hoc coordination and logistical support for governance and Hub engagement
