Duties and Responsibilities The UNEP-convened Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) is a partnership of governments, intergovernmental organizations, and representatives of the private sector, the environmental community, and other members of civil society.

The CCAC is the only international initiative working on integrated climate and clean air solutions to reduce the rate of near-term warming. It focuses on fast action to reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) including methane, black carbon, HFCs and tropospheric ozone.

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) hosts the Secretariat at the Economy Division in Paris.

The Communications Consultant will support the CCAC to communicate clearly, coherently and consistently about its work to reduce short-lived climate pollutants to partners, stakeholders, and the broader public. This will be a hands-on position supporting the communications needs of the CCAC Secretariat’s various teams and workstreams.

The Communications Consultant will produce compelling written and audio-visual content, contribute to the development of communication strategies and plans, and disseminate important CCAC news and progress updates throughout the CCAC’s channels.

Specific objectives include: 1. Content Creation: Develop high-quality written, multimedia, and design content for various communication channels to convey the CCAC’s and GMP messages and goals effectively. 2. Advocacy and Communication: Support in planning and executing advocacy campaigns and communication strategies that raise awareness and engage the target audience. 3. Digital Presence: Support administration of the CCAC’s and GMP digital platforms, including social media, website, and email campaigns, ensuring consistent and engaging content. 4. Coordination and Collaboration: Collaborate with CCAC Secretariat cross-functional teams to ensure seamless coordination and integration of communication efforts across projects and initiatives. 5. Support and Assistance: Support the CCAC Secretariat team members and Communications Team in daily communication tasks, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient execution of communication plans. 6. Media Monitoring: Support the monitoring and evaluation activities to assess the impact of communication strategies and content.

Qualifications/special skills - First-level university degree with a specialization in communications, international affairs, public relations or a related discipline is required. - A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience is required. - Experience or a demonstrated commitment to the fields of climate change and/or air quality is required.

Languages - Fluency in English is required.
