How can you make a difference?

Under the supervision and guidance of the supervisor, the Cashier Finance Assistant is responsible for executing a broad variety of routine tasks for the respective unit requiring full knowledge of UNICEF finance procedures, processes, and policies.

Key functions, accountabilities, and related duties/tasks:

The main activities include but not limited to:

Cashier Duties:

  • Process and monitor all expenditures related to (COHA: USD and SYP).
  • Keep a record of all cash, bank, and advances on an excel worksheet, update, and reconcile daily.

Invoice Processing:

  • Process operation section’s invoices by having Local Focal Point finance role.
  • Responsible for collecting invoices and filing documents for approval and thereafter processing in VISION.

Master Data Management (MDM):

  • Acts as Syria Country Office Local Focal Point for Master Data Management (Cash on Hand Account (COHA)).

Filing:

  • Keep payments records / filing, Keep electronic records for payments/liquidations.

Other tasks:

  • Traking all payments with the bank to solve any return payment on time.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Completion of secondary education is required, with professional/university level courses in Accounting and Finance/Business administration considered an asset.
  • A minimum of four years of clerical experience in the area of finance and accounting is required.
  • Proficiency in English and fluency in Arabic are required.
