You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, security, logistics, or related field.
  • Certification in Health/Safety or First Aid is preferred.
  • Fluency in Arabic (native) and English (intermediate).
  • Strong negotiation skills and understanding of Jordanian communities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics tools.

Job Purpose The Cash for Work Project Officer will ensure effective implementation of safety, security, and logistics protocols to safeguard personnel, assets, and operations. This role involves conducting risk assessments, developing contingency plans, resolving conflicts at project sites, coordinating supply chains, and fostering a culture of safety. The officer will also manage logistics support, including transportation, inventory, and procurement compliance, to meet project objectives.

Major Responsibilities

Safety & Security Planning (20%):

  • Develop Project-Specific Safety and Security Risk Assessments (SSRA) aligned with World Vision policies.
  • Conduct Occupational Health and Safety trainings, including preparation of materials.
  • Ensure compliance with Core Security Requirements (CSR).

Operational Compliance & Incident Management (25%):

  • Implement safety protocols and lead investigations into security or personnel incidents.
  • Resolve disputes between CFW workers, communities, and staff per established SOPs.
  • Report daily updates to the Project Manager and draft incident reports.
  • Maintain communication with local authorities and partners.

Emergency Preparedness (20%):

  • Develop Medical Incident Management Plans and evacuation protocols.
  • Train staff and workers on emergency response procedures.

Logistics Coordination (20%):

  • Oversee transportation, inventory, and procurement for project operations.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols by contractors, vendors, and partners.

Supply Chain Efficiency (15%):

  • Manage timely delivery of goods and optimize supply chain processes.
  • Maintain accurate logistics records to ensure transparency and accountability.

Knowledge/Qualifications

  • Experience:

    • Minimum 3 years in safety, security, and logistics (NGO experience required).
    • Proficiency in writing SSRAs, SOPs, and incident reports.
    • Experience with Cash for Work (CFW) projects; familiarity with GIZ-funded projects is a plus.
  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in safety, security, logistics, or related field.

Work Environment

  • 95% fieldwork (site visits, logistics oversight) and 5% office-based reporting.
  • Frequent travel to project sites required.

  • Project Manager: Daily reporting.
  • Project Coordinator: Weekly updates.
  • Project Team: Daily coordination.

Decision-Making Authority

  • Independent Decisions: Routine operational tasks, delegation to casual workers.
  • Higher Approval Required: Policy exceptions, cross-departmental decisions, or non-routine irregularities.
