Under the direction of the Casework Senior Program Manager, the casework supervisor will provide team leadership for Reception and Placement core services and extended case management services including health, employment, financial stability, education, and housing for refugees during the two-year period after arrival. This position will provide supervision to a group of caseworkers and must model high quality service provision and support direct reports in meeting job expectations, developing professionally and troubleshooting complex client challenges. The casework supervisor will also have a small caseload of their own to manage.

Major Responsibilities (including but not limited to)

- Provide supervision to caseworkers and participate in resettlement activities. - Provide ongoing training to ensure that work is completed according to IRC policies and procedures. - Ensure that data entry and client assessments are done accurately and in a timely manner. - Perform weekly check-ins with team members - Ensure 90-day reports are submitted correctly and timely - Complete file reviews and maintain exemplary case files - Facilitate Casework team meeting on a rotating basis - Provide Reception and Placement services and extended case management services to newly arrived refugees with special medical needs up to 24 months upon arrival, including addressing housing, health, education, employment, financial assistance, legal issues, and other needs that may emerge - Develop self-sufficiency strategies, monitor progress, and provide support to refugees to be become independent and self-sufficient - Perform services as outlined in the 24-month case management contracts with the State of Utah - Maintain accurate and up-to date case files for all assigned clients - Assist in Cultural Orientation preparation and presenting - Sign up for office support once a month to assist with the set up of homes for new arrivals, among other projects. - Other related duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work, or related field; or equivalent work experience.

Work Experience

- Minimum 1 year of experience successfully providing casework services required; minimum of 2 years’ experience strongly preferred. - Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations required. - Prior experience in onboarding and training staff and supporting quality assurance efforts a plus.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies

- Strong relationship building, diplomacy, and networking skills; ability to effectively build internal and external relationships. - Skills in people management and able to support staff in confronting challenges and producing high quality work. - Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment. - Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively. - Attention to detail and accuracy in work product. - Fluent in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in language(s) spoken by client group is desired. - Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research and problem-solving purposes. - Valid driver’s license and access to a personal, insured vehicle

Working Environment

- A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities. - May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
