Result of Service 1. Creation of a detailed workplan outlining the key steps and milestones for the website development process, including timelines, resource allocation, and communication protocols, among others;

2. Successfully organize and hold the capacity-building activity, after which a summary report, a participant list, a participant satisfaction survey (the respondent rate no less than 60%), a recorded video, and a media coverage report, an edited slide deck of the online workshop should be submitted;

3. Successful completion of the project within the agreed-upon timeline, ensuring that all aspects of the project meet the requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities This individual contractor assignment is with the United Nations Global Compact Office (UNGCO), located in the Global Operations Team in China.

The United Nations Global Compact is the United Nations' voluntary corporate sustainability initiative in the areas of human rights, labour, the environment, and anti-corruption. It revolves around ten universal principles drawn from four key international instruments in these areas.

The Global Compact Office is the United Nations entity responsible for the overall management and coordination of the Global Compact initiative. It pursues two complementary objectives: (1) making the Global Compact and its principles part of business strategy and operations everywhere; and (2) facilitating cooperation among key stakeholders by promoting partnerships and collective action in support of United Nations, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The United Nations Global Compact has been executing the project on Implementing 2030 Agenda through UNGC Action Platform on Sustainable Infrastructure for the Belt and Road Initiative to Accelerate the Sustainable Development Goals, which is supported by the United Nations Peace and Development Trust Fund. This project aims to implement the 2030 Agenda through a global action platform established by the UN Global Compact to engage companies participating in BRI infrastructure projects to align with the Ten Principles of the Global Compact in order to accelerate the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. The United Nations Global Compact China Liaison Office is leading the execution of the project. This project comprises multiple activities. A capacity-building activities on sustainable development need to take place in project each project target country, which will focus on the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact, and other issues, particularly focus on the infrastructure sector.

Responsibilities: under the supervision of the Programme Officer, the individual contractor is responsible for the following

- Draft a workplan, review the workplan on a regular basis to determine how the project is progressing in terms of schedule and budget, and make timely adjustments;

- Be responsible for preparing the invitation list and assist in sending the invitation letters;

- Coordinate and manage all the logistics, administrative arrangements and implementation of the online event;

- Produce event preparation materials, including but not limited to agendas, invitations, marketing materials, background notes for speakers and hosts, run-of-show, and other documents as relevant;

- Manage all the technical aspects of hosting the online event including but not limited to setting up and launching the selected webinar platform, handling the waiting room, sound test, and recording;

- Facilitate the online event, including drafting the script;

- Effectively communicate objectives to internal and external stakeholders and coach as needed;

- Proactively plan and execute post-event tasks, including but not limited to event readouts for internal use, thank-you and acknowledgment letters, and event data recording;

- Collaborate with relevant staff in programs and the communication team to ensure the event is meeting organization needs and goals, and take initiative to ensure the event is executed in the most professional and innovative manner possible.

- Summarize the meeting minutes and recordings of the organized activities and events, including but not limited to consultations, dialogues, interviews, and training.

- Archive and update all the developed materials in an efficient and well-organized manner.

- Perform other duties as assigned by the project manager to support the successful implementation of the project.

Qualifications/special skills First level university degree in business administration, management, economics, international relations, communications, or a related field. An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) is desirable. A minimum of 5 years of experience in programme/project support related to business/corporate sustainability is required. Experience in organizing and managing events, webinars, or other digital communication activities to promote related projects is desirable. Experience with data analysis is desirable. Experience in conducting research and designing surveys or questionnaires is desirable.

Languages Fluency in English is required.
