Face-to-face fundraising has been identified as a central technique for pledge acquisition and the office has secured significant growth of pledge income through this channel in the last three years. The plan for further growth is based on the opportunities enabled through a larger and stronger team of individual contractors engaged in face to face fundraising (facers).

In order to continuously work on skills development and strengthening of facers and team leaders, a roster of trainers/mentors will be created to provide Capacity Building Services In the areas of: Communication Skills, People Management, Motivating Others, Assertive Communication, Presentation Skills, Selling Skills, Teamwork, Coping with Stress, Mentoring, Community Development, etc.

The consultants will be required to provide expert support that will involve some of the following assignments:

  • Mentoring of the Team Leaders to build their capacity to listen constructively to the team, coach and direct them, provide support or delegate tasks to the individual team members to enable them to deliver the necessary results;
  • Building of individual capacities of face to face fundraisers and team leaders to prioritize issues that need to be tackled and help team members improve their performance.
  • Building of individual capacities of Team Leaders in the areas of communication skills and presentation skills.

Tasks:

  1. Mentoring and coaching Team Leaders on how to motivate and manage face to face fundraisers and secure reduced turn-over and achievement of the planned fundraising norms. The consultant is expected to demonstrate up to date knowledge of the community development and to apply it to the development of the strong community consisting of face to face fundraisers.
  2. Delivering training on presentation and communication skills required for donor acquisition to the existing and newly recruited face to face fundraisers.
  3. Design and conduct regular role-play exercises with facers and team leaders and provide constructive feedback to the participants.
  4. Support the recruitment process of new face to face fundraisers through communication with faculties, HR agencies, civil society organizations and other channels for the recruitment of face to face fundraisers.

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:

  • University degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Andragogy, International Affairs, Communications
  • Experience in community mobilization and development of high-performing teams
  • Proven record of team building experience
  • Understanding of UNICEF brand and general knowledge of UNICEF activities
  • Understanding of marketing with an ethical approach
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency in both Serbian and English
  • Ability to be both a proactive leader and a hands-on participant in a collaborative work environment focused on achieving results
  • Excellent teamwork skills
