Result of Service Provision of substantive and administrative support for CDPCS’ projects and activities, in an accurate and timely manner.

Appropriate application of relevant policies, guidelines, procedures and processes.

The expected final output of the individual contractor will be satisfactory substantive outputs and administrative arrangements for the workshops (onsite and online) and the projects executed by DISD/CDPCS under DA, RPTC and XB funds and a final report detailing the work done.

Expected duration Nine (7) months from 1 February until 30 June 2022

Duties and Responsibilities The individual contractor will work under the direct supervision of the Chief, DISD/CDPCS and general guidance from the CDPCS interregional adviser to provide assistance to the delivery of the DISD/CDPCS capacity development activities.

The individual contractor will also work, as necessary, with the programmes and Branches of the DISD, relevant CDO staff and other relevant UN Offices, Programmes and Agencies.

The individual contractor will provide services with respect to:

1. Providing substantive support to the CDPCS capacity development activities, namely adjusting existing training materials for online-training workshops, assisting in adopting training modules for online learning, conducting applied research on the impact of COVID19 on social groups, commenting on consultants’ reports and thematic papers.

2. Providing administrative and substantive support for the preparation of training workshops (by telecommuting or onsite) in conjunction with relevant DISD/CDPCS staff. This will include liaising with workshop participants and ensuring appropriate facilities and services for the workshop.

3. Participating in organizing and delivering select online workshops in Africa, Central Asia and Eastern Europe.

4. Assisting DISD/CDPCS to collate required workshop and project documentation and training materials for online and onsite training.

5. Assisting DISD/CDPCS staff in preparing concept notes and project documents as well as other documentation required for new projects funded by RPTC, XB and DA.

6. Assisting in preparing budgets for workshops, calculating costs, and preparing estimates for RPTC and DA projects.

7. Providing other services related to the organization of the DISD/CDPCS capacity building activities under DA and RPTC, including:

  • Monitoring processes and scheduling related to the unit’s outputs, products, tasks, etc.; where applicable, assisting in the verification of receipt and accuracy of requisite documents, approvals, signatures, etc. to ensure compliance with relevant legal, financial, and other requirements.

  • Responding to information requests and inquiries (e.g. answers requests requiring file search, etc.), and as necessary, referring inquiries to appropriate personnel for handling.

  • Assisting in the preparation of presentation materials using appropriate online platforms.

  • Maintaining calendar/schedules; monitors changes and communicates relevant information.

  • Performing other duties, as required.

    Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: Degree in legal, economic, or social sciences is required Experience: At least ten years of progressively responsible experience in legal , social , economic, capacity building or technical cooperation field. Language: Knowledge of English and Russian is mandatory
