Who are we?

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) has been providing relief and development services in the Horn of Africa since 1997. Using a protection of human rights framework, DRC has mainly focused on Somalis who are displaced by conflict. Programmers include protection, livelihood, food and NFI distribution, water and sanitation, and advocacy amongst others. DRC Yemen has been providing relief and development services in Yemen since 2008. DRC has mainly focused on refugees and migrants displaced by conflict and natural disasters.

DRC, through its specialized business unit, Danish Demining Group (DDG) aims to recreate a safe environment where people can live without the threat of landmines, unexploded ordinances and small arms and light weapons”. These goals can be effectively advanced through cooperation and joint action with other organization as well as with integration of operations and programs with its sister organization, DRC.

About the Job:

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the overall data management for the CCCM team, including taking ownership of the Site Resident Database and ensuring this is updated in an accurate and timely manner to support the CCCM field team;
  • Design and develop KOBO tools for data collection as per the needs of the CCCM team, for example for new site assessment surveys.
  • Compile monthly CCCM indicator achievements from the CCCM team, and input these on to Activity Info for the CCCM Cluster.
  • Carry out cross checking tasks on distribution lists as required to ensure identification of gaps and avoidance of duplicated distributions.
  • Prepare monthly food security gap lists to be shared with FSAC, and support coordination with FSAC and relevant partners to minimize food security gaps, under the supervision of CCCM PM;
  • Manage CFRM database, ensuring cases are downloaded from the KOBO, compiled, and shared with the relevant team members on a weekly basis.
  • Conduct and supervise data entry while ensuring that data meet high quality standards (including in the field and in the office);
  • Lead capacity building on IM tasks for CCCM Assistants and Officers, including improving data collection and management skills within the team.
  • Contribute to innovate ideas for improving information flows within the CCCM team and for other partners operating in DRC managed sites.
  • Be the main point of contact with the MEAL team regarding distributions and ensure consistent response from the MEAL department to requests for information.
  • Ensure that all sources of verification are cross-examined prior to reporting;
  • Ensure timely and effective collection of data from data sources and identify appropriate data sources.
  • Produce and update information products such as reports, charts, infographics, and other materials.
  • Ensure the security and data protection of all shared information.
  • Ensure CCCM documentation relevant to distribution lists and other critical documents are stored in the office and in soft copy on the team share point, in an organized manner and kept up to date with all relevant backups;
  • Conduct data quality checks to the data/information periodically.
  • Undertake any other tasks assigned by the line manager.
  • To be responsible for sharing the IPTT figures report with CCCM manager in a monthly manner to be share with QA MEAL team.
  • To be the FP for receiving the Fire incidents and Eviction threats reports form sites FPs and update the CCCM Cluster fire incidents and Eviction threats trackers.
  • To support the sites FPs on Floods assessments (RNAs) reports, which will be reported to the CCCM cluster.

About you

To be successful in this role you must have:

Experience and technical competencies:

  • Excellent Excel skills, with the ability to cross check, analyze, and synthesize complex datasets.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office as well as information product software
  • Experienced at designing and developing KOBO tools (or similar)
  • Strong capacity for critical thinking and analysis
  • Minimum of three years’ work experience in knowledge and/or data management
  • Experience in the humanitarian or development sector an advantage
  • Ability/willingness to very frequently move to different field locations.

Required qualifications:

Education :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences/Information Systems/Information Technology or related field

Languages:

  • Professional fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English is essential.

We offer

DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until December 2022, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work As soon as possible, and be willing and able to work in Aden with regular travel to Lahj.

Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment. This position will be placed at Band (H Non- Manager) and will be reporting to Camp Coordination and Camp Management Program Manager.
