UNICEF's Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC) in Budapest, Hungary supports UNICEF operations globally in the areas of Finance, Human Resources, Payroll and Information Technology.

How can you make a difference?

UNICEF is seeking interns to support the Customer Care team in the Global Shared Services Centre in Budapest, Hungary. The interns will gain from exposure to cutting edge Customer Care practices in a shared services context.

The key role of the interns is to work primarily with Customer Care Agents and other Customer Care staff members and contribute in their tasks.

The internship will also provide exposure within an international environment, to learn about UNICEF’s mission, its various programs and how it operates globally.

This will involve:

  1. Process automation
  2. Data Management and Reporting
  3. Working Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) and Knowledge Articles that are in use by Customer Care
  • Review and Update SoPs used by Customer Care
  • Check the validity/applicability of information in these SoPs in line with current systems, processes, audit recommendations and in consultation with Customer Care staff
  • Review Knowledge Articles available to end-users

As an advocate for every child, you will have

  • Current university student studying Business Administration or Computer Science
  • Have taken courses or have experience in technical writing, database management, and programming (automation, scripting)
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Working knowledge of client operating systems (Windows 7, 8 or 10)
  • Hands on experience of Office 365 Applications, and use of Internet
  • Ability to work in a multi-culturally diverse environment
  • Knowledge of English required. Additional UN Language is an asset
  • Eligible applicants must be nationals of EU countries or be eligible to work in Hungary

Contract Duration and Terms

Internships will be for various duration, normally between 6 and 26 weeks, depending on organizational needs and intern availability.

Internships are paid with a stipend of approximately HUF 232,000 per month for full-time arrangements (40hrs/week), which will be prorated for part-time schedules. Work arrangements are based on the effective regulations of the duty station, organizational needs and the schedules of the interns.

In some specific cases, unpaid internships are also available (e.g.: payment eligibility issues).

Suitable candidates will be notified when the opportunity arises to confirm availability.

The selected interns will be required to provide proof of enrollment in a health/accident plan prior to taking up the assignment.
