**OVERVIEW** ------------ Parent Sector : Culture Sector (CLT) Duty Station: Hanoi Job Family: Culture Type of contract : Non Staff Duration of contract : From 1 to 6 months Recruitment open to : External candidates Application Deadline (Midnight Paris Time) : 15-Jun-2022 UNESCO Core Values: Commitment to the Organization, Integrity, Respect for Diversity, Professionalism **OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST** ----------------------------------------- 1. **Background** Within the framework of the UNESCO project “promoting sustainable tourism and private sector engagement for inclusive community development in response to the COVID-19 crisis”, UNESCO is seeking for individual consultant to improve the local products’ connections with the heritage for better income opportunities and stronger resilience of local community in the post Covid19 recovery. This assignment is purposed to (1) advise an inventory of relevant local products and services that are heritage friendly, (2) propose local livelihoods strategies capitalizing the advantages of WH destinations, and (3) recommend the solutions to improve the branding, interpretation and communications of local products and services in linkages with Trang An World Heritage Site (WHS). Long Description ---------------- **B. Assignments** The individual consultant under the overall authority of the UNESCO Representative in Viet Nam, in supervision of the Chief of Culture Unit and the direct coordination of the Project Coordinator at the UNESCO Field Office in Ha Noi, shall be able to conduct the following tasks: 1\. Advise an inventory of relevant and heritage-friendly local products and services. a. Develop a research framework and plan b. Undertake 03 missions (04 days each) in Trang An WHS region, Ninh Binh to conduct the inventory and field assessment. 2\. Analysis and Presentation a. Conduct data analysis and develop the report which shall include the proposed local livehood strategies capitalizing the advantages of WH destinations. b. Present key findings to UNESCO and relevant stakeholders c. Conduct 02 mission (02 days each) in Trang An WH region to participate to the seminars and deliver the presentations d. Finalize the report in consultation with UNESCO with proposal of dissemination Long Description ---------------- 3\. Technical support to improve the branding, interpretation and communications of local products and services in linkages with Trang An WHS a. Propose recommendations to improve local products and services’ interpretation and communications. b. Advise and facilitate the industry partnerships and networking to support the market access of local products and services **C. Deliverables** **Key products must be in both English and Vietnamese** 1. A research framework and plan ( 30 June 2022) 2. A progress report including raw data and findings from field assessment (30 July 2022) 3.
