- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Good analytical skills and the ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Experience in graphic design and visual storytelling is an advantage.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: University degree in any of the following areas: Project Management, Business Management, Agriculture, Nutrition, Food Science, Social Sciences.
Experience: Six years or more of postgraduate professional experience in a relevant field of work, with a background and interest in international humanitarian and development work. Graphic design, art and visual storytelling background will be added advantage.
Language: Fluency (level C) in English language
ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
WFP is partnering with AUDA-NEPAD and the SADC Secretariat towards the implementation of the Rural Futures Programme of the African Union, contained in the Kinshasa Declaration, to pilot the project within the SADC region. The Kinshasa Declaration, endorsed by a Decision of the 35th AU Ordinary Assembly of Heads of States and Governments, directed AUDA-NEPAD and WFP to support the operationalization of the Kinshasa Declaration, through the development and implementation of projects and programmes, for a continental rollout.
WFP and AUDA-NEPAD are establishing the Joint Implementation Project Team (JIPT) to spearhead the piloting and implementation of the Kinshasa Declaration in the SADC Region, through establishing activities of the Rural Futures Programme. The JIPT will be hosted by the SADC Secretariat and its operations directed by a Steering Committee consisting of the tripartite.
JOB PURPOSE
This position will support WFP’s strategic engagement with the SADC Secretariat and African Union Development Agency – New Partnership for Africa’s Development (AUDA-NEPAD, to manage and oversee Administrative and Business support of the Joint Programme Implementation Team (JPIT). The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Head of the JPIT.
The incumbent will work under the direct supervision of the Coordinator/Head, of the Joint Implementation Project Team (JIPT). The Programme Business Support Assistant will perform the following duties:
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
- Oversee the provision of a range of services, including office and asset management, including light vehicle management, travel, protocol related, etc., maintaining information, to contribute to the provision of a safe and comfortable working environment.
- Support the HR and Administrative functions of the Joint Implementation Team.
- Provide administrative support to the Office which includes scheduling and coordinating appointments, meetings and any other duties supporting the Office.
- Provide administrative and logistical support in various activities as well as workshops and meetings/missions.
- Support a wide range of projects, using various software programs to visualize and develop innovative graphic designs that meet Joint Implementation Team goals.
- Collate and process information including dissemination to support the production of standard documents and reports for the unit, to enable decision-making and the effective management of resources.

- Assist in the management of programmes of the Joint Implementation Unit.
- Be a first point of contact for internal and external queries, to facilitate the provision of efficient and effective resolution of daily issues.
- Support all knowledge-related activities, including the management, capturing, sharing and accessibility of knowledge assets.
- Manage and maintain paper and electronic records within the area of responsibility by established procedures, to ensure swift and easy data access as required.
- Undertake research and perform basic analyses of data, to contribute to the provision of accurate information and effective management of resources.
- Be a first point of contact for internal queries, to facilitate the provision of efficient and effective resolution of daily issues.
- Provide inputs to routine methods and practices in your area of work and support the effective operation of the Unit.
- Contribute to the improvement of business procedures and processes.
- Perform other related duties as required.

- Knowledge of MS Office applications and computer IT applications
- Ability to use standard office equipment such as photocopiers and scanners.
