JOB PURPOSE:

The position will support, coordinate and control a full range of business support services for the Private Sector Partnerships team to ensure that services are delivered effectively in raising funds for WFP India’s projects. The position will also facilitate the team in effectively positioning WFP with external partners to attract resources, technical assistance and innovative solutions to advance the work of WFP, while supporting India in the achievement of the SDGs and Zero Hunger and emphasizing WFP’s contributions in this regard.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (Not all inclusive)

Under the overall supervision of the Country Director and under the day-to-day supervision of the Partnerships Officer (Private Sector) – Head of Unit, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting the Private Sector team in mobilizing resources for WFP activities in India in collaboration with the programme teams and the Partnership team and perform the following key functions:

  • Provide dedicated support to implement the work plan for the assigned area to enable WFP to identify, develop and strengthen quality partnerships in support of WFP’s strategic objectives in India;
  • Assist the manager in the partnerships portfolio, including partner profiling and outreach activities, with the aim to maximize resources and leverage policy and technical support for WFP’s work;
  • Support partner visibility and ensure partner conditions are met.
  • Provide support to create and dispatch marketing collaterals using Canva, MS Powerpoint, MS Publisher and other creative design software, project concept notes, infographics etc that showcase WFP’s projects, areas of work and impact generated.
  • Assist manager in monitoring and maintaining a robust database of private sector contacts, including but not limited to UHNIs, CXOs and CSR professionals.
  • Prepare and consolidate research analytics to identify private sector entities that can help achieve WFP’s strategic objectives. Conduct research, gather and analyse information on fundraising trends, regulations, and practices.
  • Assess and recommend improvements to procedures and practices to contribute to the effective delivery of business support services keep abreast of private sector corporate social responsibility (CSR) movements.
  • Provide support to contribute to partnerships strategies, including the development of Partnership Action Plans; prepare partner proposals and reports by engaging with other WFP entities and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and/or consolidate comprehensive reports, documentation, correspondence, briefing notes, etc. and proactively highlight strategic issues to senior staff to inform best course of action and nurture partnership growth.
  • Support donor stewardship through contributing to effective dissemination of information, communications support, and partnership reporting.
  • Coordinate other related duties as required such as organising events, donor field visits, keeping track of networking opportunities, CSR and sustainability Awards, events and participating to generate leads.
  • Provide full range of comprehensive support to manager in the preparation of strategic agreements, joint strategies and MOUs in order to promote the SDGs and Zero Hunger on the national, regional and global agenda and to reach advantageous outcomes for WFP;
  • Oversee the maintenance of databases to ensure information is organized and readily available and compliant with all relevant regulations and policies.
  • Support in the WFP Trust for India activities
  • Others as required.

Education , Experience , Knowledge & Skills

Education:

  • Secondary Education, preferably with specialized certification in the related functional area, such as graphic design. University degree in Political Science, International Development, Development Economics, International Relations, Law, Marketing, Communications or other relevant field, will be desirable

Experience:

  • Minimum six or more years of progressively responsible work experience in partnership roles including in fundraising and donor relations, CSR or other related fields.
  • Work experience in the area of fundraising, negotiations, public relations is essential.
  • Work experience designing marketing collaterals, infographics and digital marketing content is required.
  • Work experience within the private sector in Corporate social responsibility in India will be an asset.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Can create visually striking marketing collaterals and develop value propositions using best-in-class designing tools for WFP
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Has developed powerful narratives by using data analysis visualization to enable action-oriented discussions with partners.
  • Has prepared briefs to raise resources for operations and collaborated for timely registration, maintenance and update of contributions and forecasts.

  • Has motivated team spirit and contributed to a gender-balanced, inclusive and sound working environment.

  • Is well versed with the philanthropic and private sector giving scenario and familiar with the related legislative framework in India.

Language: Fluency in oral and written communication skills in English.
