Type of Contract: Service Contract (SB-2) Location: Gurugram, Haryana, India Duration of Contract: One year (Renewable, depending upon availability of funds) Reporting to: Travel Manager/Temporary OIC, MSDA, Rome Number of positions: 2

JOB PURPOSE

Under the administrative leadership of the Country Director (India) and overall direction of the Travel Manager, MSDA, WFP HQ and under the direct supervision of the Team Leader in the GSS-Travel Unit in New Delhi office, the aspirant of the position will be responsible to perform the following duties:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)

• Provide support to staff within the areas of finance, accounting and assist in clearance of receivables; • Perform accounts reconciliation of travellers and vendors; • Retrieve data from WFP’s co-operate travel system in order to generate financial statistics; • Make travel arrangements for staff when requested; process and review all Trip Documents and claims related to Entitlement travel for staff worldwide; • Analyse and interpret pertinent data, identify and resolve discrepancies, file it from various sources and provide accurate analysis as requested; • Coordinate extensively with service units and collaborate frequently with staff both at and outside the duty station of assignment; • Maintain a database on travel and costs including an updated list on staff on travel to assist finance in budgeting for entitlement travel; • Respond to queries from a variety of sources by providing information and guidance on rules and regulations related to area of work or direct to the most appropriate; • Perform other related duties as required.

Desired results: The candidate with initiative and judgement may produce organized, accurate and detailed records with well analysed data. May also address unforeseen situations seeking advice and guidance from supervisor. Proven ability to work in stressful environments will be considered an advantage.

Functional Proficiencies: The candidate should be able to review a diverse range of data, resolve data discrepancies and operational problems with significant independence. Ability to acquire or give factual information of a non-routine nature involving interpretation of facts and requiring clarity of expression. Ability to perform detailed work, frequently of a confidential nature and/or to handle a large volume of work systematically, optimally and accurately. Having potential of working in a team environment and coordinate assignments to achieve common goals. Ability to deal persistently and thoughtfully with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education: Completion of secondary school education. First level university degree particularly in Finance, Administration or Travel would be an added advantage. Experience: Four or more years of progressively responsible work experience in Finance. Knowledge: Training and/or experience in utilizing computers, including word processing, spreadsheet and other WFP standard software packages (ERP system). General knowledge of UN system, policies, rules, regulations and procedures in the area of entitlement travel, administration systems are desirable. Language: Proficiency in both oral and written communication in English and working knowledge of Hindi.

Mode of Engagement: The salary for this position is INR. 617,322/- per annum (depending upon the last drawn remuneration of the candidate), plus medical benefits as per WFP's plan. All tax liability for payments from this contract are to be borne by the subscriber.
