This is a UNV National Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Youth contracts.

In Lebanon, WFP works over 20 cooperating partner NGOs to support approximately 2.2 million people with regular food and cash assistance using e-cards. WFP supports Lebanese students with school meals and has run over 300 development activities which include supporting rural infrastructure, as well as education and training opportunities for refugees and Lebanese individuals. WFP also supports Lebanon’s National Poverty Targeting Program.

Under the direct supervision of the Facility Manager and the overall supervision of the Head of Administration, the National UN Youth Volunteer will:

• As part of the Assets Physical Count Team (twice a year) and Inventories Physical Count Team (4 times per year), contribute to maintaining and updating data base of office assets and inventories. • Ensure timely delivery of messenger services requests keeping records and controlling invoices. • Manage requests and records of national and international outgoing courier services and control courier invoices. • Ensure daily income register and deliverance of incoming correspondence, e-mail, courier and faxes adhering to established procedures and will act as alternate to the General Services Administrative person in charge of registry. • Give support to meeting services reception, logistics and catering. • Keep strict delivery control of stationery, paper, envelopes, and other consumables. • Maintain vendor contacts database • Perform other duties as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. This position is based in Beirut. National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan. National UN Volunteers are expected to be culturally sensitive and adjust to the prevailing culture and traditions
