Support business development and ensure funding compliance.
You have:
- A minimum of a university degree in a related development field.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in a related field of resource mobilization and or grants management.
- Proven computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft and working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
- Knowledge of various donor rules and regulations.
- Proven ability to develop and write grant proposals and concepts.
- Proven ability to write reports narrative and financial.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Desirable: A master’s degree in development, management, or a related development field.
- Desirable: A strong awareness of current issues in the development sector and the donor landscape.
- Desirable: Extensive knowledge of project design and management.

The opportunity
The Business Development Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the organization’s fundraising and grant management efforts. Working closely with the Business Development Manager (BDM) and the programme team, this role contributes to the identification and acquisition of funding from diverse sources, while ensuring the effective coordination and oversight of the grant portfolio.
Key responsibilities
Funding Strategy & Support
- Collaborate with the Business Development Manager and programme teams to identify and pursue funding opportunities
- Contribute to proposal development and donor engagement strategies that win support and build lasting partnerships
Grant Portfolio Management
- Coordinate the full lifecycle of grants—from setup to closure
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry in systems like SAP
- Maintain comprehensive records for all active grants
Compliance & Systems Oversight
- Monitor donor compliance across financial, contractual, and reporting obligations
- Work cross-functionally with Finance and Programmes to align activities with donor requirements
- Flag risks and ensure proactive resolution of compliance issues
Reporting & Communication
- Support the preparation of clear, consistent narrative and financial reports
- Maintain reporting calendars and follow up with teams to ensure timely submissions
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in grant management, donor relations, or fundraising
- Strong understanding of compliance frameworks and financial reporting
- Excellent communication and coordination skills
- Familiarity with systems like SAP is a plus

Location: Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso
Type of Role: Local Fixed-term contract (one-year renewable depending on performance and budget availability)
Reports to: Business Development Manager
