Result of Service This position is located in the Human Rights Council and Treaty Mechanisms Division (CTMD) of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) based in Geneva, Switzerland.

The consultant will be supporting the project for a Digital Transformation of the UN Human Rights Mechanisms. In this context, they will be responsible for preparing business requirement documentation and identifying process improvement opportunities related to: 1. The management of the Voluntary Fund for Financial and Technical Assistance in the Implementation of the Universal Periodic Review, 2. Processes and workflows pertaining to servicing of sessions of the Working Group of the Universal Periodic Review; 3. Other processes and workflows across the Human Rights Mechanisms.

The consultant will be responsible for consulting relevant business units and producing comprehensive documentation that accurately captures business requirements. They will also support technical teams in preparing the implementation of adequate solutions, including through an evaluation of technical solutions available in the market.

Duties and Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Project Manager of the CTMD Digital Transformation project, and in collaboration with other team members, the individual consultant will:

  • Consult a variety of business units in the Division supporting the work of the UN Human Rights Mechanisms, incl. the Human Rights Council (HRC), the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), and the Human Rights Treaty Bodies
  • Produce comprehensive documentation that accurately captures business requirements, documents processes, and specifies required functionalities
  • Identify process improvement opportunities related to various workflows and procedures
  • Collaborate with technical teams to prepare implementation of technical functionalities
  • Prepare other documents as required, incl. meeting notes, briefings, or presentations

    Qualifications/special skills Advanced degree in Business Analysis, Business Administration, Computer Science, Social Sciences, or related field

  • A minimum of five years of applied experience in business analysis of complex, interlocking processes and systems is required
  • Experience in production of the following diagrams or models is desirable: process/workflow diagrams, use case diagrams, state/activity diagrams, data models.
  • Experience in working with international organizations is desirable.

    Languages Fluency (oral and written) in English is required.
