It is a global development cooperative owned by 189 member countries. As the largest development bank in the world, the World Bank provides loans, guarantees, risk management products, and advisory services to middle-income and creditworthy low-income countries, and coordinates responses to regional and global challenges. ITS Vice Presidency Context:

Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) enables the WBG to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and promote shared prosperity in a sustainable way by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150 locations.

Our vision is to transform how the Bank Group accomplishes its mission through information and technology. In this fast-paced, ever-changing world, the formulation and implementation of the ITS strategy is an ongoing, iterative process of learning and adaptation developed through extensive consultations with business partners throughout the World Bank Group.

ITS shapes its strategy in response to changing business priorities and leverages new technologies to achieve three high-level business outcomes: business enablement, by providing Bank Group units with innovative digital tools and technologies to transform how they deliver value for their clients; empowerment & effectiveness, by ensuring that all Bank Group staff are connected, able to find information, and productive to accelerate the delivery of development solutions globally; and resilience, by equipping the Bank Group to provide risk-based cybersecurity and robust data protection for a global network and a growing cloud platform.

Implementation of the strategy is guided by three core principles. The first is to deliver solutions for business partners that are customer-centric, innovative, and transformative. The second is to provide the Bank Group with value for money with selective and standard technologies. The third principle is to excel at the basics by providing a high performing, robust, and resilient IT environment for the organization.

Unit Context:

The ITS External Solutions (ITSES) is a unit within the ITS Operations & Corporate department (ITSOC) that provides state-of-art information and technology applications to support communications with external audiences, donors, member counties and other key stakeholders. The unit focuses on modernizing the Bank’s digital engagement with the public, external clients, partnerships, and other stakeholders. ITSES works with clients to design solutions that help enable client responsiveness, improve organizational effectiveness, and manage risks.

Position Overview:

The Business Analyst will be part of the team which manages the World Bank’s external web presence. The Business Analyst will work with clients to document requirements and ensure that ITSES web applications meet client needs. The work will be focused primarily on supporting the Bank’s main external presence on www.worldbank.org; data-specific properties such as data.worldbank.org and other data portals, and sites for partnerships or with special requirements. The Business Analyst will support the product owner during all stages of design, development, and implementation by meeting with clients regarding needs and pain points, creating user stories and other documentation, communicating with team members regarding requirements and priorities, and delivering regular status updates.

Essential Job Functions:

•Work with clients to understand business needs and requirements and to develop and maintain a positive client relationship.

•Build stakeholder consensus and ensure everyone is in agreement on the solution being proposed.

•Document business and functional requirements through development of user stories, business architecture, business process and workflows, and other documentation as needed.

•Provide overall support to ensure the successful design, testing, and implementation of web applications.

•Provide status updates to the product owner documenting progress and identifying risks or potential project delays. In addition, maintain project timelines and keep the product owner and client updated during all stages of a project.

•Identify actionable and measurable KPIs and maintain dashboards tracking key KPIs, working with other team members including digital strategy, design, and solution architects.
