BI Consultant

Result of Service The UNEP Business Intelligence team is responsible for maintaining and releasing the “Corporate Dashboards” for the Organization globally. This consultancy will contribute in improving the current dashboard “look and feel”, create new documentation and templates that UNEP will follow when releasing dashboards and templates.

Duties and Responsibilities The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment (http://www.unenvironment.org).

The Corporate Services Division is the guardian of UN Environment’s corporate interest, mitigating its exposure to risk and supporting the organization with management tools, plans and related capacity building. It oversees UN Environment’s efficient and effective management, in line with UN Environment's accountability requirements, rules, regulations and UN core values.

In line with this mandate, the Corporate Services Division (CSD) is responsible for:

The UNEP Business Intelligence Initiative and for maintaining and releasing the Corporate Dashboards for the organization globally. To achieve these goals the Division requires the services of a BI Consultant who will support UNEP BI team in improving the Corporate Dashboards by undertaking the following tasks:

Business Intelligence Consultant: i) Create a documented Power BI template to be used for the creation of new Corporate or entity specific reports ii) Review all UNEP Corporate reports updating the “look and feel” with the objective to simplify the access to data for the users iii) Hold training and familiarization sessions with UNEP BI focal points explaining the rationale behind the suggested design structure and how to implement it on the reports they are responsible for.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: - First-level university degree in Business Intelligence, computer science, information technology or area related to Data Analytics is required. - Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills; - Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing; - Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines; - Sound security awareness Experience: Five years of experience is required in Microsoft Power BI templates and design, business intelligence visualizations through the analysis of information and message to be delivered. Experience with Adobe InDesign Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position fluency in oral and written English is required; working knowledge of any other official UN language is an asset.
