Job description

In a world of global value and supply chains, a well-functioning and internationally harmonized quality infrastructure (QI) is essential for reducing technical trade barriers and sustainable economic growth. Through international cooperation in its global economic relations, the Federal Republic of Germany is working towards the harmonization of QI, the improvement of the safety of traded products and - in the sense of a level playing field - fair market access and production conditions as well as balanced legal framework conditions. The German Government is therefore conducting political and technical dialogues on QI with strategically important trading partners such as China, India, Brazil, Mexico and Indonesia. The Global Project Quality Infrastructure (www.gpqi.org) involves important actors from government, business and society in these dialogues through a multi-stakeholder approach.

Your tasks

  • Support of the management of the country component China in advising the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, partner organizations and stakeholders on strategic, conceptual and technical questions of project implementation and topic development
  • Professional conception, development and implementation of activities together with state actors and stakeholders from the industry and technical organizations
  • Process management for dialogue and coordination of bilateral technical expert groups
  • Expansion and maintenance as well as coordination of the network of the project in the industry and technical organizations in Germany
  • Support for impact monitoring at project and country level as well as support in the preparation of evaluations

Your profile

  • Completed university degree in law, engineering, economics, political science or a similar field of study
  • Several years of relevant professional experience, preferably gained abroad, in the fields of standardisation or technical regulation, e.g. in standardisation bodies, business associations and companies or in the public sector
  • Expertise in a relevant subject area, preferably digitization or technical trade barriers in the economic relations of Germany/the EU and China
  • Experience in international cooperation with China is desirable
  • Diplomatic skills and political intuition as well as a sovereign handling of politically sensitive topics
  • Excellent conceptual and strategic skills, high ability to cooperate and coordinate, moderation and networking skills
  • Strong intercultural competence and communication skills
  • Fluent in German and English; Knowledge of the Chinese language is an advantage
