BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:

To coordinate and deliver a full range of specialised support services for efficient planning, monitoring, and analysis of project financial performance to enhance optimal use of resources.

ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive):

1. Review budget plans, monitor and analyse project financial performance and make recommendations in compliance with WFP financial policies and procedures and best practices, to support financial analysis and optimisation of resources.

2. Provide basic analysis on fund and grant balances and refer to the supervisor discrepancies, to support maximum fund utilization and decision-making process.

3. Contribute to pipeline management facilitating efficient monitoring to prevent and address pipeline breaks and maximise operational effectiveness.

4. Support on the monthly resource management committee meetings and ensure that note for the record is accurately documented and shared with the regional office as appropriate.

5. Compile data and provide basic analysis, maintain accurate records and files and prepare periodic and ad hoc reports for further reviews, to support accuracy and efficiency of information presented to internal and external stakeholders.

  1. Enter accurate data in the corporate systems within the established deadlines, to enable easy access to information and support planning and decision-making.

7. Maintain communication with a number of stakeholders regarding project funds management matters and related processes, to clarify any discrepancies and optimise use of funds.

8. Provide guidance to other support staff and contribute to their learning and development in budget planning, fund management and operational planning, to facilitate continued development and consistency in services delivered.

9. Follow standard emergency preparedness practices, to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education:

Completion of secondary school education. A University degree in the related functional area is desirable such as a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, banking, audit, or administration and Management.

Experience****:

At least Five (5) years of experience in a relevant field of work, with a background and interest in humanitarian and/or development work.

Technical Knowledge & Skills:

Has assisted with the preparation of complex financial documents.

Has supported the performance of budget analyses.

Has contributed to the collection of pipeline data.

Languages:

Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Arabic.
