Result of Service

The result of survey should contain data on bat species composition and abundance in particular roosts. It should clarify distribution of bat species in Sinai and in Egypt in general. The report should be submitted to the EUROBATS Secretariat.

Duties and Responsibilities

The applicant should conduct a baseline bat survey in the Egyptian part of Sinai Peninsula, with focus on caves and other types of their underground roosts.

Qualifications/special skills

The applicant must have a bachelor/master degree in biology or natural sciences and experience in field studies of bats with standard methods. A permission for handling bats granted by local authorities is required.

Languages

Good knowledge of Arabic language is essential for search of the bat roosts with help of the local population and communication with national authorities. The final report should be written in English.
