You have:

  • Graduate or master’s in finance/accounting or related field.
  • Minimum 1 year in the development field/Auditor supervisor in reputed organizations/any local company with experience in handling different Donor funded projects (USAID, BMGF, EU etc.) will be an added advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of administrative and/or operating protocols and procedures of research support function.
  • Knowledge of local taxation of non-profit entities would be an added advantage.
  • Advance in MS Excel is desirable.
  • Knowledge of working accounting software/quickbooks/ERP system will be an added advantage.

CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional for the position of Finance Assistant to be a part of CIMMYT. This position will be based in Dhaka.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in processing and overseeing the work of financial transactions, accounts payable, accounts receivables, vouchers, etc., by thoroughly checking and correcting the accounting and other relevant financial records.
  • Assist in preparing vouchers and their relevant formats, so that the financial details can be entered correctly in the accounting system by considering VAT & TAX issues;
  • Perform accounting computations and calculations accurately, and try to identify if there are discrepancies, and if there are any errors, try to resolve them.
  • Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
  • Secure financial information by completing database backups.
  • Maintain financial security by following internal controls, financial policies & SOP of the organization.
  • Assist in preparing payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
  • Assist in preparing assets, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  • Assist in preparing the financial reports in the accounting and finance system as per the instructions received from the seniors.
  • Maintain staffs confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential;
  • Handling sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge updated by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
  • Accomplish the result by performing the duty.
  • Contribute team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Graduate or master’s in finance/accounting or related field.

  • Knowledge of the field of work or specialized equipment.

  • Basic knowledge of administrative and/or operating protocols and procedures of research support function.

The position is for Bangladesh Nationals for an initial fixed-term contract of 1-year with 3 months probationary period, which further employment is subject to performance and the continued availability of funds.
