Org. Setting and Reporting The International Trade Centre (ITC) assists developing and transition economy countries to take advantage of expanding trade opportunities in an increasingly complex global environment. ITC supports Trade Impact for Good, promoting sustainable and inclusive development goals through trade.

The Trade and Market Intelligence (TMI) is part of the International Trade Centre’s Division of Market Development (DMD). This section provides easy-to-use analytical information to support development of trade strategies for governments, trade support institutions and companies in the developing world. TMI provides this information through its web-based market analysis tools (www.intracen.org/mat) and related capacity building. TMI is also implementing a large-scale programme on non-tariff measures (NTMs), including comprehensive business surveys on NTMs and related obstacles to goods and services trade in developing and least-developed countries (www.ntmsurvey.org).

This programme helps to identify and understand trade barriers that exporters and importers in developing countries experience through business surveys and data collection. The business perspective on NTM-related trade barriers is indispensable in the definition of national strategies and policies that help overcome obstacles to trade. The understanding of key concerns of importers and exporters helps governments better define concrete action and capacity building, for example in the area of technical regulations.

The goal of this job function is to support the team working on NTM surveys and related subjects by conducting statistical analyses, delivering capacity building trainings and helping with the preparation of customized studies to answer ad-hoc requests.

Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Associate Market Analyst, and the general guidance of the Senior Market Analyst, the incumbent will:
