Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship

The Associate Project Officer (Transport) position is assigned to the Transport Sector Office (SG-TRA) within the Sectors Group (SG). This position will be outposted to Pacific Subregional Office (SPSO) in Suva, Fiji.

You will report to the Director or designated International Staff (IS) in the Transport Sector office. You will have matrix reporting to the Regional Director, SPSO or designated IS and will oversee administrative staff within the division.

Your Role

As an Associate Project Officer (Transport), you will support the project /technical assistance (TA) processing and administration, portfolio management, sector work, and other general activities covering public and private sector operations with focus on assigned sector(s).

Additional Information:

This opening is a regional staff position with local remuneration package. It is open to nationals and permanent residents residing in the duty station, Fiji Islands, and ADB member countries in the Pacific region such as Australia, Cook Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, Nauru, Niue, New Zealand, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

This is a fixed term appointment with option to renew for an initial period of three (3) years following Section 3.1 (b) of Administrative Order No. 2.01 (“Recruitment and Appointment’). This appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment. At the end of the initial period, this appointment may be renewed for a period of up to three years, or not renewed. This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.

For staff on fixed term appointment: (a) the current fixed term appointment will be terminated before the effective date of the new fixed term appointment; and (b) a decision on their fixed term appointment will be made at the end of the new fixed-term.
