  • A minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in developing and implementing international projects, of which preferably one (1) year acquired at international level.
  • Excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken) and Arabic.
  • Previous experience within the United Nations System or other international organizations.
  • Knowledge of another official language of UNESCO (French, Chinese, Spanish, Russian).
  • Familiarity with UNESCO’s MOST programme and its initiatives to support transformations in communities and in policies.

The incumbent will operate within UNESCO’s regulatory framework, project management standards, and the Programme’s approved workplans. Long Description ---------------- The duties of the Associate Project Officer, based at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, will include the following: - Coordinate the operational planning and delivery of World Arabic Language Day (WALD) celebrations, including developing detailed implementation plans, following up with internal UNESCO services, official invitations, agendas, speaking arrangements, scripts, and logistical requirements, and ensuring systematic post-event follow-up, documentation and lessons learned. - Develop and implement the Programme’s communication and visibility plan, including drafting and coordinating web stories, newsletters, brochures, social media content and key messaging related to programme activities and milestones, and maintaining updated communication calendars and content pipelines. - Support outreach and dissemination of programme results and knowledge products through events, campaigns, online platforms, and institutional networks, contribute to targeted outreach strategies for youth, educators, cultural actors, creative industries, and digital communities, and support feedback collection and monitoring of visibility and engagement indicators.
