The Report is funded by a group of governments, multilateral agencies and foundations and published annually by UNESCO to serve the international community. It is widely recognised as an indispensable advocacy and technical tool supporting inclusive and equitable quality education and promoting lifelong learning for all. Under the overall authority of the Assistant Director-General for Education, the overall guidance from the GEM Report Director and the immediate supervision of the GEM Senior Policy Analyst (Thematic Lead), the Associate Project Officer will be responsible for the coordination and development of the PEER profiles. This will include defining the template, carrying out research and developing profiles, commissioning external support where necessary, identifying patterns and trends from the qualitative evidence, coordinating the review and uploading of the profiles on the website and managing relations with external partners. The Associate Project Officer will also support research and writing of GEM Report chapters and other products. In particular, s/he will : Long Description ---------------- - Coordinate the work on the PEER website. This will include the following tasks: - Define the scope of the PEER profiles, - Research the relevant legislation, policies, strategies and programmes, as well as the relevant peer-reviewed literature and develop country PEER profiles, - Manage consultants that contribute PEER profiles, - Coordinate relations with external partners involved in the development of PEER profiles, - Review PEER profiles and identify patterns and trends from the qualitative evidence in the form of indicators, - Ensure that interesting country examples and the results of the mapping of trends emerging from the profiles feed into the GEM Report, - Coordinate regular PEER team meetings to discuss progress in the development of profiles, - Format the country profiles for uploading to the PEER website. This will involve: - Undertaking quantitative and qualitative analysis and literature reviews, - Commissioning and managing external experts to conduct specific research studies. - Support quality assurance (fact-checking and referencing) of GEM Report products. - Represent the team in public events.
