Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship
The position is assigned to Procurement Division 1 (PFP1) within the Procurement, Portfolio and Financial Management Department (PPFD). PPFD's responsibilities include project-related financial management, consultant recruitment, Executing Agency procurement reviews, project implementation, portfolio management and project performance management. In addition, our teams are involved in a number of initiatives and have introduced certain changes to procedures to improve ADB's performance with respect to consultant recruitment, procurement reviews, project implementation, portfolio management and project performance management.
The incumbent will report to the outposted Procurement Specialist in India Resident Mission (INRM).
Your Role
As an Associate Project Officer (Procurement), you will support the functions of PFP1 in coordination, implementation, and monitoring of ADB financed projects in India and quality assurance of projects. You will work closely with the outposted procurement specialist and a senior national procurement officer (NPO) to provide quality oversight of the INRM portfolio, implementing and supporting procurement-related initiatives and processes, including providing operational support in reviewing transactions. You will oversee the review of procurement-related documents, streamlining of procurement processes, and strengthening of procurement governance at INRM.

Additional Information
ADB will be rolling-out a new job grading structure on 1 January 2025, which may result in a change of the position grade and title with no change in the terms of reference. By proceeding with your application, you acknowledge and accept the possibility of such changes resulting from the new job grading structure.
This opening is a local staff position. It is open only to nationals and residents of India.
This is a fixed term appointment with an option to renew for an initial period of 3 years following Section 3.1 (b) of Administrative Order No. 2.01 ("Recruitment and Appointment'). This appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment. At the end of the initial period, this appointment may be renewed for a period of up to three years, or not renewed. There is no limit on the number of renewals. This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.
