CapED currently supports 20 countries through a capacity development approach in line with SDG4 in key areas of UNESCO’s Education Sector: sector-wide policies and planning, skills development and teachers. The CapED Programme is managed by a dedicated team at UNESCO Headquarters responsible for strategic planning, partners engagement, resource mobilisation, monitoring, and support to Field Offices implementing country programmes. Under the overall authority of the Assistant Director-General for Education and the chief of the Executive Office, the guidance of the Chief of Unit, and the direct supervision of the CapED Team Lead within the Unit for Strategic Planning, Monitoring, Field and Institute Coordination (ED/EO/SPM), the incumbent will support the CapED Coordination Team, particularly through the monitoring and reporting of activities. Specifically, the incumbent will: Long Description ---------------- - Assist in the monitoring of programme performance: contribute to monitoring on progress and programme performance based on the CapED Results Matrix and country work plans, suggesting corrective actions as necessary. Assist in coordinating technical advisory services to colleagues in the field for the design, implementation, and reporting of a limited number of CapED country programmes in close cooperation with thematic coordinators. - Assist in the Programme’s financial monitoring: contribute to budget monitoring functions for a limited number of CapED country programmes, ensuring that proposed changes in work plans are in line with the Programme’s overall priorities and strategic approaches. - Assist in the Programme’s overall coordination and management: assist in the preparation of concept notes, strategic papers, work plan templates, monitoring tools, including theories of change, and guidance notes. Assist in the preparation of proposals, donor reports and evaluations. Promote cooperation and coordination with the UNESCO family, including Headquarters Divisions, Field Offices, Regional Bureaux and Specialized Institutes. - Assist in increasing the Programme’s visibility: prepare briefs on the CapED Programme.
