The Division leads the implementation of the Gateways to Public Digital Learning Initiative (Gateways), launched by UNESCO and UNICEF at the UN Transforming Education Summit. This initiative will map, describe and analyze existing public platforms and content; help countries create and strengthen national platforms; identify and share best practices; and establish international norms and standards to guide the development of platforms in ways that advance national and international goals for education. Under the overall authority of the Assistant Director-General for Education (ADG/ED), the guidance of the Director of Future of Learning and Innovation (DIR/FLI), and the direct supervision of the Project Officer, the incumbent will support the planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting, evaluation of the Gateways Initiative and contribute to other activities of the team related to digital learning and innovation. The incumbent will have the following duties and responsibilities: Long Description ---------------- **a) Project management** - Support day-to-day implementation of the Gateways to Public Digital Learning Initiative. - Coordinate the expert group that works with UNESCO and UNICEF to steer the initiative. - Assist to ensure the financial management of the initiative. - Draft and help oversee contracts to initiate expert reviews and descriptions of public digital learning platforms. - Prepare internal and external reporting, including to donor organizations. - Support the creation and design of the Gateway web portal featuring a map and descriptions of different public digital learning platforms. - Work with colleagues to find technical solutions to build, maintain and improve a web portal providing links to and descriptions of hundreds of different public digital learning platforms. **b) Member State engagement** - Assist to the mobilization of the Member States to support activities related to the initiative, especially country confirmation and endorsed/non-endorsed public digital learning platforms. - Work with countries to establish direct lines of communication with focal points overseeing national (and sub-national) public digital learning platforms. - Make requests to country focal points for descriptions and clarifications about digital learning platforms. - Assist to plan and coordinate intergovernmental processes related to establishment of norms and standards. - Support the establishment of a cross-country community of practice to facilitate and help guide the development and improvement of public digital learning platforms.
