Technology innovation in education is one of the thematic priorities of the Education Sector under the upcoming 41C/4 medium-term Strategy (2022-2029) and the 41 C/5Programme and Budget 2022-2025. The Unit is responsible for coordinating the implementation of project activities that will contribute to the achievement of the relevant expected output of 41 C/4 and 41 C/5 on leveraging technological and digital innovations to ensure more inclusive, effective and relevant learning planned under 41 C/4 and C/5. The activities will also be implemented through promoting digital public goods for education, developing AI competencies, and leveraging data and AI tools for learning. **II. Duties and requirements** Under the overall authority of the Assistant Director-General Education, the direct supervision of the Chief of Unit for Technology and Artificial Intelligence in Education in the Future of Learning and Innovation Team (ED/FLI/ICT), and within the implementation framework of the Kingdom of Bahrain funded project on “UNESCO King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa Prize for the Use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in Education”, the incumbent will carry out the following tasks and responsibilities : · Assist in the initial conceptualization, overall planning and announcement of the annual thematic topic of the Prize; · Assist in implementing the strategies to disseminate information about the Prize among Member States and across concerned international organizations; · Manage the registration, submission of applications and endorsement letters, and provide immediate and precise feedback on Prize applications ; · Assist in the management and overall coordination of the jury meetings, award ceremonies, seminars and other project activities; · Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of the project to ensure timely periodic and final reporting; · Assist in the coordination with the Government of Bahrain, international jury members, and other partners at a global level to support the project implementation and expand the impact of the Prize Long Description ---------------- Long Description ---------------- Long Description ---------------- **COMPETENCIES (Core / Managerial)** ------------------------------------ Communication (C) Accountability (C) Innovation (C) Knowledge sharing and continuous improvement (C) Planning and organizing (C) Results focus (C) Teamwork (C) Professionalism (C) **-** ----- For detailed information, please consult the [UNESCO Competency Framework](https://en.unesco.org/sites/default/files/competency_framework_e.pdf). **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** --------------------------- ***EDUCATION*** - Advanced university degree (Master or equivalent) in the field of education, educational technology, social sciences, international relations or other relevant fields. ***WORK EXPERIENCE*** - Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience in managing projects in the field of education or coordinating the implementation of projects concerning multiple countries, preferably at international level. - Experience in managing prizes or application and evaluation procedure. - Experience in planning, preparation, and organization of workshops and meetings under the framework of education-related projects. ***SKILLS/COMPETENCIES*** - Good writing skills and ability to draft clear and concise reports. - Skills to conduct analytical studies and provide advice on thematic topics for the ICT in Education Prize. - Competencies to design instruments for the evaluation of applications for the Prize.
