In particular, the incumbent shall: - Provide technical and administrative assistance in the implementation of the Multi-Donor Programme on Freedom of Expression and Safety of Journalists (MDP), which complements UNESCO’s work to implement the Programme of the Organization’s Communication and Information Sector as outlined in the C/5 under Expected Result 1, by supporting the MDP in the planning phase including assisting in the organization of consultative meetings with relevant UNESCO Field Offices, the preparation and constant updating of workplans and the preparation of budget outlines and allocations; - Provide administrative and logistic support required for the successful implementation of project activities; - Assist the MDP in its monitoring and reporting through the compilation of data and information collected from the field and the drafting of reports and briefs related to the MDP, notably of the MDP’s yearly annual progress report, as well as by supporting the preparation of relevant meetings with donors and other related activities; Long Description ---------------- - Maintain current registers and support the upkeep and update of the knowledge-sharing and communication platform to strengthen the organizational and programme memory and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and resources among MDP team, specific tasks include the compilation of resources, vital programme documents and material at various stages and collection of annual evidence of milestones and achieved targets; - Support the drafting of project proposals, donor mapping and analysis related to the MDP; - Assist in the upscaling of the MDP’s communications efforts by preparing outreach and visibility materials, and maintain a constant update of the MDP website; - Support the FEJ Section in the drafting of information material, website articles, concept notes, speeches, correspondence, briefings, project proposals, policy guidelines, agreements and other documents related to the MDP implementation in the areas of freedom of expression and the safety of journalists; - Perform other duties as assigned. **COMPETENCIES (Core / Managerial)** ------------------------------------ Accountability (C) Communication (C) Innovation (C) Knowledge sharing and continuous improvement (C) Planning and organizing (C) Results focus (C) Teamwork (C) **-** ----- For detailed information, please consult the [UNESCO Competency Framework](https://en.unesco.org/sites/default/files/competency_framework_e.pdf). **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** --------------------------- ***Education*** - Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in international relations, political sciences, social sciences including history and law, or other relevant fields. ***Work Experience*** - At least 2 years relevant professional work experience in international relations, international development, communication and/or information, freedom of expression and safety of journalists. The SC Holder is affiliated to the French social security scheme (Régime général de la sécurité sociale et des prestations familiales). Consequently, the employees’ social contributions to this scheme will be deducted from the gross remuneration paid by the Organization.
