Associate Programme Management Officer

Description of task
Under the direct supervision of Programme Management Officer, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
- Carry out initial programmatic research on selected aspects of OHCHR's human rights monitoring and advocacy work in Ukraine, including collecting, analysing and presenting statistical data and other information gathered from diverse sources relevant for programmatic purposes;
- Contribute to the preparation of various programmatic written outputs, e.g. draft background papers, analytical notes, sections of reports and studies, inputs to publications, etc.;
- Provide substantive support for monitoring and evaluation functions, including the review and analysis of emerging issues and trends, participation in evaluations or research activities and studies
- Draft inputs for narrative and financial reports on contributions in compliance with specific donor requirement; Ensuring accuracy and availability of information related to donor agreements, extensions, and resulting schedules for donor reporting
- Participate in programmatic survey initiatives; assists with design of data collection tools; issues data collection tools, reviews, analyses and interprets responses, identifies problems/issues and prepares preliminary conclusions.
- Provides administrative and substantive support to the HRMMU, such as identifying and proposed participants, preparation of background documents and presentations, handling logistics, etc.
- Perform any other job-related activity required to achieve the goals and objectives of the unit.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level:
Master degree or equivalent
Education - Additional Comments:
International relations, international law, project/programme management, business administration, or a related field.
Required experience:
24 Months
Experience remark:
A minimum of two years of experience in project/programme management, information management, or a related area in international organization is strongly desirable. Experience of project/programme management in the field of law, human rights and/or in sustainable development is desirable. Good communication and presentation skills and good editorial, analytical and report writing skills is an asset.
Language skills:

Pre-departure training organized by the Government of Finland
The selected candidate will be invited to attend a training on Finland’s development policy and cooperation prior to deployment from 1 to 3 September 2021.
