More about P-2 contracts and their salaries.Org. Setting and Reporting The position is located in the Office of the Director-General, United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG). The incumbent will report to the Chef de Cabinet of the Office of the Director-General and to the Chief of Building Unit.
Responsibilities The Associate Programme Management Officer will be responsible for the following duties:
•Develops and implements projects under the umbrella of the ODG, such as the Celestial Sphere Restoration Project. Acts as the ODG focal point of selected managements and administration-related issues, taking notes in meetings and preparing summaries; ensuring appropriate follow-up ;
•Identifies key contacts/entities and opportunities for strategic partnerships and manages regular communications including correspondence for the signature of the Director-General and/or the Chief of Office; Liaises with colleagues in different organizations/units to encourage participation in joint events (e.g. commemorative days, cultural events) ;
•Drafts and compiles communication materials, including project updates, articles and key messaging, talking points and speeches for the Director-General, in English and French;
•Assists the Chef de Cabinet and the Chief of the Building Unit with financial and administrative management; Prepares proposals and follow up on projects' funding; Liaises and communicates with UNOG offices, other United Nations entities, partners external to the Organization, key project stakeholders and with the Host Country; Monitor, research and analyze issues of particular interest to the Director-General and compiling notes for his information or background for the ODG ;
•Coordinates events with ODG partners; Plans and organizes specific outreach events;
•Maintains and supervises the updating of ODG web platforms: uploads multimedia content, designs and optimizes taxonomy, ensures client service to users and quality control of external content;
•Coordinates procurement: estimates the needs for projects, contacts providers, chooses the best option, assists with their contracts and, , control/monitoring;
•With the Chef de Cabinet’s guidance, ensures monitoring and drafts reporting of projects;
•Contributes to the roll out of public outreach and social media campaigns;
•Takes photos and videos for the ODG, edits and organizes them, creates animations and other digital products;
•Assist in fundraising and outreach activities of the Office of the Director-General;
•Performs other related duties and acts as focal point for specific initiatives as assigned.

Education Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent degree) in international relations, political science, communication, public relations or related fields. A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
Work Experience A minimum of two (2) years of experience in the field of project or event management, partnership-building or communication is required Experience working in a large, multi-stakeholder project, and developing and maintaining partnerships with academia, business and public sector entities is required. Experience producing textual and multimedia content for multilingual websites and maintaining webpages in different content management systems is also required. Experience in contributing to the management of contracts and projects, and coordinating activities related to budget, funding and administrative matters is desirable. Experience in the United Nations common system is desirable. Experience in a Front Office of a Senior Official is desirable. Experience in photo & video editing is desirable. Experience producing content for multilingual websites and managing social media accounts is desirable Experience in drafting communication materials is desirable.
Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English and French is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is desirable.
