The Institute is a globally regarded center of excellence for research and implementation of socio-emotional learning (SEL) through innovative digital pedagogies empowered by Artificial Intelligence. MGIEP believes that the youth need more opportunities to participate actively in public matters and have a greater say in policymaking that will impact their futures. UNESCO MGIEP is seeking an Associate National Project Officer to provide support to the youth program in developing the Institute-wide youth strategy and the development of a global network for Youth-Driven Communities of Peace. Long Description ---------------- Under the overall authority of the Director and direct supervision of the Program Officer (Youth) of the Institute, the incumbent will be responsible for the following duties. **Duties and Responsibilities** - Contribute towards the development of an Institute-wide youth strategy in close collaboration with the youth program officer. - Assist with the coordination and implementation of the youth mission activities and events. - Identify and develop relevant partners (International and in India). - Drafting of different types of documents. - Support developing an action plan for the various activities identified in the youth strategy including the communities of peace, PVE, and capacity building. - Any other related task as assigned by the supervisor/ Director. **COMPETENCIES (Core / Managerial)** ------------------------------------ Communication (C) Accountability (C) Innovation (C) Knowledge sharing and continuous improvement (C) Planning and organizing (C) Results focus (C) Teamwork (C) **-** ----- For detailed information, please consult the [UNESCO Competency Framework](https://en.unesco.org/sites/default/files/competency_framework_e.pdf). **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS** --------------------------- **Education Qualification** - Advanced university degree (equivalent to a Master’s Degree) in education, psychology, political science, international relations, or a related discipline **Work Experience** - Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience supporting the coordination and implementation of youth programmes. Experience in the implementation of international youth programme will be a distinct advantage. - Experience in facilitating and moderating workshops with Youth Long Description ---------------- **Position-Related Skills and Competencies** - Ability to produce quality documents (concept notes, reports, academic papers, etc.) based on research. - Critical analysis skills - Proven in-depth knowledge of international programmes and Indian NGOs working with youth. - Ability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and working relationship - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Global teamwork experience and ability to work in multicultural environments. - The ability to multi-tasks, function effectively under high pressure, meet deadlines and adapt to rapidly changing environments., - Excellent IT skills, in particular, MS Office applications. Long Description ---------------- **Languages** - Excellent knowledge (written and spoken) of English and working knowledge of Hindi. **DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS** ---------------------------- **Work Experience** - Experience in programmes of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) of India or similar programmes in other countries. - Professional experience within an international environment or in the UN system. - Experience in the Prevention of Violent Extremism (PVE). **Languages** - Working knowledge of other UNESCO Official languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Spanish, and Russian). **BENEFITS AND ENTITLEMENTS** ----------------------------- UNESCO’s salaries consist of a basic salary and other benefits, which may include, if applicable: 30 days annual leave, reimbursement of medical insurance (up to 5% of base salary), pension plan (up to 10% of base salary), etc. The annual base salary of NOB R1 is INR 1,751,502 (Negotiable). **SELECTION AND RECRUITMENT PROCESS** ------------------------------------- Please note that all candidates must complete an on-line application and provide complete and accurate information.
