Only nationals of Malawi may apply to this position.*** **OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST** ----------------------------------------- Under the authority of the Regional Representative and Director of the UNESCO Regional Office for Southern Africa, the oversight of the Regional Advisor - Education for Health and Wellbeing for Eastern & Southern Africa, and the direct supervision of the Project Officer – Education for Health and Wellbeing Malawi, the incumbent contributes to programme implementation, administration, financial expenditure reporting and logistical management of programs/projects/activities related to UNESCO’s expanded work on Education for Health and Wellbeing in Malawi. Long Description ---------------- The Associate National Project Officer will support the in-country Project Officer in the implementation of the “Our Rights, Our Lives, Our Future” (O3) Programme for Education for Health and Wellbeing in Malawi. More specifically, the incumbent will undertake the following tasks and responsibilities: **Administrative support** - Support the Project Officer administratively in projects and programs targeted to scale up UNESCO’s work in ensuring quality delivery of comprehensive sexuality education in Malawi and ensure conformity to expected results and project work plans. - Coordinate and prepare documents necessary for the launch of procurement processes and issue contracts. - Provision of logistical arrangements for all meetings, workshops and courses in connection with the project. - Establish and maintain an organized filing system for all financial and administrative related project issues, in particular, the creation of databases for in-country partners, consultancies and service providers. Long Description ---------------- **Programming support** - Conduct training of primary and secondary school teachers on comprehensive sexuality education. - Conduct training of Primary Education Advisors on the Readmission Policy to address early and unintended pregnancy. - Assist the Malawi Education for Health and Wellbeing team in the design of project specific materials pertaining to management and finance issues in support of project implementation. - Support the preparation of funds allotment on donor funds received.
