The position is meant to showcase UNESCO's work in the areas of education, culture and information within the framework of the project. With a view to devising, maintaining, updating and implementing a milestone communication workplan, she/he will work in close collaboration with the sectorial programmatic staff at the Kyiv Desk and Headquarters. She/he will also closely liaise with the relevant communication teams of the Resident Coordinator Office, UNCT, Government and UNESCO partners in the project implementation. Work is performed with a significant degree of operational autonomy and initiative within the established guidelines, procedures and processes. The incumbent will organize his/her work routine and determine priorities while overall objectives and expected results will be set by the supervisor. In particular, the incumbent will: Long Description ---------------- - Ensure drafting, producing and publishing quality content for the website, social media (UNESCO Kyiv and UNESCO’s global accounts) and the press (text, still and moving images), both in English and Ukrainian. This will be done in close coordination with CPE at UNESCO Headquarters, and inputs from concerned sectors at Headquarters. - Conduct press relations and the coordination of press briefings, acting as a "fixer" for local and international press, to enhance the visibility of the Donor and UNESCO's action in the press and top-tier media. To this end, the incumbent will develop and maintain networks of media contacts, correspondents and journalists. - Ensure the identification, selection, coordination and supervision of qualified external consultants such as photographers and videographers for the coverage of UNESCO's activities on the ground, in close coordination with CPE at UNESCO Headquarters. - Ensure the production and quality review of communication materials, including brochures, banners, publications, newsletters and flash-info email messages, in close coordination with CPE at UNESCO Headquarters. - Plan and advise the UNESCO Officer in Kyiv on the elaboration of sound and effective communication plans and strategy and maintain updated such plans. - Undertake additional tasks that may be assigned, provided they are consistent with the function as set out above.
