Role Summary

We are looking for a talented Intern who is passionate about driving change in government to join our Digital and Tech Team in TBI Ethiopia. This internship offers diverse experience, working with the country team and colleagues across the Institute on priority tech projects aligned with Digital Ethiopia 2025.

As an Intern, you will support ongoing eGovernment and digitization initiatives across selected ministries using innovative approaches. Additionally, you will assist in evaluating the implementation of Digital Ethiopia 2025. Furthermore, you will conduct research and analysis of selected ongoing and planned digital initiatives. Throughout the internship, you will be mentored by TBI colleagues and gain an understanding of life at TBI.

This is a full-time, 4-month contract (with the possibility of extension) based in Addis Abeba, Ethiopia.

This position is open to Ethiopian Nationals only.

Key Responsibilities

­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­This internship will provide you with the opportunity to contribute to Ethiopia’s digital transformation agenda across the following areas:

  • Support the digital transformation team with E-Government initiatives including developing a Service Catalogue - focusing on collecting and analysing data on services provided by selected government institutions.
  • Contribute to developing a digitalisation roadmap by focusing on data collection and analysis for revenue-related services.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of Digital Ethiopia 2025 by gathering relevant data, analysing progress and providing insights to the team.
  • Establish relationships and engage with various stakeholders to support priority digitalisation projects.
  • Conduct research and analysis and provide written insights on global practices for assigned digitalisation projects.
  • Apply and learn new and innovative approaches to support change and deliver impact.
  • Assist project teams in developing reports, presentations, and other relevant documents.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must be fluent in English and Amharic.
