Associate Humanitarian Affairs Officer
Contract

Eligibility criteria
Candidate age: between 18 and 29 throughout the entire duration of their assignment. Applicants must be nationals of or legal residents in the country of assignment.
Description of task
Under the direct supervision of the OCHA Team Leader, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
- Support the monitoring, analysis and reporting on the humanitarian situation in Mozambique, particularly in those provinces where emerging needs and compounded protracted needs are reported (COVID-19 outbreak, violence/insecurity, post Cyclones Idai and Kenneth, drought, etc.)
- Provide secretariat support to the Humanitarian Country Team and Inter-Cluster Coordination Group, including preparing meeting agendas and invitations, drafting of minutes , in close consultation with the Head of Humanitarian Adviser Team
- Support the development and launch of the 2021 Humanitarian Needs Overview (HNO) and Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) for Mozambique;
- Support the preparation of various written reports, documents and communications on the humanitarian situation in Mozambique, including humanitarian snapshots , situation updates, talking points, etc.
- Support information sharing with key humanitarian partners (particularly with those with operational presence in the field) and government counterparts.
- Carry-out other activities as requested by the Head of Humanitarian Adviser Team
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level:
Bachelor degree or equivalent

Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Law or a relevant area,
Required experience:
24 Months
Experience remark:
2 years of professional work experience at the national and/or international level in humanitari-an/emergency response, international development, public diplomacy, or other relevant pro-grammes.
Ddrafting, analysis and reporting.
Organisation of conferences and events.
Language skills:
- English(Mandatory), Level - Working Knowledge
- Portuguese(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
Area of expertise:
Emergency response, immediate relief operations, and post-conflict humanitarian aid operations, Resource mobilization, partnership and donor coordination
