You have:

Contract
This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.
Description of task
Under the direct supervision of the OHCHR Deputy Head of Office and in close coordination with the Senior Adviser on Persons with disabilities Rights, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
- Provide technical advice on how to mainstream disability issues within existing and future projects, in particular in the area of ESCR, Civic Space, youth engagement, rule of law, access to justice and gender.
- Monitor, analyse and report about the human rights situation with special focus on the persons with disabilities’ rights
- Coordinate, liaise and strengthen partnerships with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) and youth organisations in Guatemala
- Support OHCHR’s contribution in the implementation of the UN Disability Inclusion Strategy and assist in reporting on the UN Country Team Disability Score Card.Help organise events/activities with the Government and/or OPDs for International Disability Day on 3 December and/or International Human Rights Day on 10 December.
- Assist the Communications Team in designing more accessible communication products on OHCHR’s work on inclusion and inclusive development
- Assist the Office’s management to strengthen the accessibility and inclusion’s strategy across OHCHR-Guatemala
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level:
Bachelor degree or equivalent
Education - Additional Comments:
- A Bachelor’s degree in human rights, justice, social sciences or similar area is required.
- Training on the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disability is highly desirable.
Required experience:
24 Months
Experience remark:
At least 2 years of progressively, responsible and relevant professional experience in the field of human rights, including at least one year in the area of rights of persons with disability, in justice, in Social Sciences, or similar field of work is required.
At least 1 year of experience of work with civil society organizations and experience in human rights analysis and reporting .
Language skills:
- Spanish(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
- English(Mandatory), Level - Working Knowledge

Area of expertise details:
- A minimum of two years of progressively, responsible and relevant professional experience in the field of human rights, including at least one year in the area of rights of persons with disability, in justice, in Social Sciences, or similar field of work is required.
- At least 1 year of experience of work with civil society organizations is required
- Experience in human rights analysis and reporting if desirable.
