1. Organizational Context

  1. Organizational Setting

The post is located in the HR Planning Section of the Human Resources Management Department (HRMD). The Section is responsible for ensuring that WIPO can achieve its mission by having the right people with the right skills and competencies in the right place at the right time through: supporting managers in the design and implementation of workforce plans within the results-based management (RBM) framework; the provision of workforce analytics to inform decision-making; the recruitment of staff with the skill and abilities that the Organization will need in the future; and sharing accountability with managers in job design and ensuring human resources are used effectively to support the goals of WIPO.

  1. Purpose Statement

The incumbent is expected to perform duties with a high degree of initiative. S/he will assist the team in the development and implementation of the mobility initiatives in WIPO. S/he will also support the team by contributing to the further development of the HR analytics.

  1. Reporting Lines

The incumbent works under the supervision of the Head of HR Planning Section.

2. Duties and Responsibilities

The incumbent will perform the following principal duties:

a. Mobility

a) Conduct research, identify innovative and evolving best practices and tools to facilitate mobility;

b) Contribute to the development of WIPO mobility initiatives and their piloting and implementation;

c) Assist in the selection and implementation of an IT tool/platform to support mobility in the Organization;

d) Collect, interpret and analyze HR/mobility data to help inform decision-making on HR related strategies and processes; develop and analyze various data points;

e) Assist in the organization of internal consultations related to mobility and information meetings to launch initiatives; contribute to the change management process; prepare various communication and information materials.

b. HR Analytics:

a) Contribute to the further development of HR analytics to drive strategic workforce planning and support organizational results;

b) Participate in meetings with managers to develop proposals on how to address business related questions through the use of HR analytics and support data-driven decisions;

c) Extract and analyze data, prepare and communicate findings and insights to the team & key stakeholders to influence decision-making process. Identify needs in relation to data collection;

d) Support the team on issues related to workforce planning and talent acquisition, including metrics, KPIs, scorecard development and forecasting/analysis of trends;

e) Support the team with the design and preparation of dashboards and visualizations for internal and external use;

f) Produce and deliver standard and customized HR reports;

g) Respond to HR data requests on an ad hoc basis by gathering, analyzing, and reporting relevant data from various sources.

c. Perform other related duties as required.

3. Requirements

Education (Essential)

First level university degree in Human Resources Management, Economics, Social Sciences, Sciences, Public or Business administration or related field.

Education (Desirable)

Advanced university degree in Human Resources Management, Economics, Social Sciences, Sciences, Public or Business administration or related field.

Training/Certification in HR Analytics.

Experience (Essential)

At least three years of professional experience including working in data analytics applied to an area involving qualitative and quantitative analysis.

Experience (Desirable)

Experience in data analytics targeted for human resources management. Experience in human resources management or communication and marketing area.

Language (Essential)

Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English.

Language (Desirable)

Knowledge of other official UN languages.

Ability to read and apply data, metrics and KPIs. Ability to translate HR analytics insights into actions. Ability to learn quickly and adjust to a new environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective partnerships and working relations in a multi-cultural environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity and gender equality. Ability to take initiative, anticipate needs, customer orientation and good team working skills. Excellent computer literacy. Competent user of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and the internet, and the ability to adapt quickly to new technologies.

Job Related Competencies (Desirable)

Practical knowledge of a business intelligence tool (i.e. Tableau, Power BI etc.). Ability to build engaging communication and information materials (e.g. social media communications, presentations, including with infographics) by using various tools and applications.

Annual salary:

Total annual salary consists of a net annual salary (net of taxes and before medical insurance and pension fund deductions) in US dollars and a post adjustment. Please note that this estimate is for information only. The post adjustment multiplier (cost of living allowance) is variable and subject to change (increase or decrease) without notice. The figures quoted below are based on the June 2021 rate of 87.3%
