Associate Financial Officer

IFC Treasury Valuation and Analytics is seeking a dynamic and motivated Associate Financial Officer to provide Treasury and Mobilization’s Middle Office support. The candidate will support bond and derivative valuation for daily collateral management and quarterly financial statement. The role requires proven knowledge in derivative pricing and CVA calculation. The officer could independently identify and resolve the issues that prevent high quality mark-to-market from being calculated and sent out on time. The officer is also expected to coordinate with internal and external clients including Risk, Quant team, Internal Control, External Auditors, IT and Accounting. The Associate Financial Officer should be able to back up colleagues in different time zones when needed and could actively join different VPU initiatives.

Roles and responsibilities: • Valuation of various fixed income products including bond, swap and options • Monitor and address daily valuation breaks from CP MTM reconciliation. • To review the availability of the relevant market data for the fair valuation of the transactions. • Contribute to monthly and quarterly fair valuation and CVA analysis for Client Relation Management transactions. • Validate, troubleshoot and resolve issues in daily, monthly and quarterly valuation tasks. • Oversee the daily market data downloads, perform validation, troubleshoot errors, maintain manual curves. • Oversee levelling activities for the Front office (as relevant). • Address inquiries and challenges from Front Office, Treasury Risk, and the Controllers’ departments. • Provide quarter end valuation completion to IFC Controller. • Prepare and maintain documentation of individual and group work. • Implement productivity enhancing utilities and applications. • Provide ad-hoc analysis and reporting to clients. • Stay on top of the industry’s standard processes and technologies used.

Selection Criteria

• Master's Degree in a relevant field (Finance, Business, Engineering, or another quantitative subject area such as Mathematics/Physics/Statistics/Actuarial studies. • 5-7 years of relevant work experience in finance and investments such as fixed income product and valuation methodologies as well as related interest rate models, market or credit Risk and model validation. • Knowledge of fixed income mathematics, derivatives, and information technology and strong analytical skills. • Expertise in fair valuation for the Structured Finance transactions. • Valuation expertise in interest and FX sensitive products. • Extensive technical experience with Treasury products (e.g., Bond, Swap, Swaption, etc.), market data and valuation process. • Working technical knowledge of financial models and supporting systems. • Familiarity with SOFR, LIBOR transition and its impacts on Treasury portfolio. • Knowledge of Risk measurement, assessments, and controls. • Ability to tackle and work-out challenges and find solutions for multiple collaborators. • Ability to investigate and troubleshoot issues in any of the valuation components and refer resolution to the appropriate component owner. • Maintain effective relationships with key partners of the valuation process • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate broadly • High degree of motivation to improve productivity and efficiency using computer system. • Careful attention to details and reliability of the output. • Ability to work under pressure. • Self-motivated and able to work in a diverse global team. • Excellent communication skills to explain the logic behind the analysis. • Dedication to the daily production of accurate reports. • Knowledge of Numerix, Bloomberg, Reuters, Summit (Misys) will be a strong advantage. • Proficiency in C++, VBA, Python (or other programming language), Oracle (or other RDBMS), SQL, MS Access and Excel in order to maintain and improve existing reporting applications will be desired. Experience in Unix and Linux is preferred, knowledge in data visualisation tools. • Proven track record leading projects and delivering against deadlines.
