Overview

Support planning and implementation of inclusive education work

You have:

  • Experience in planning, coordinating, and implementing development projects

Contract

This is a UNV International Youth contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Youth contracts.

UNICEF Cambodia aims to onboard an international UNV to the education team to support planning and implementation of inclusive education workplan, including multilingual education which mainly includes curriculum development and capacity building of teachers and NISE. The UNV will also play a key role in supporting the disability focal point of the office to coordinate cross-sectoral work on disability within the office. Specific tasks are provided below.

This assignment will entail mission travel to the provinces particularly in the north-east prov-inces where the regional teacher training and inclusive education programmes are implement-ed.

Under the direct supervision of Education Specialist, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks: 1. Work closely with UNICEF education team members and government counterparts to plan and implement annual and rolling workplan on inclusive education, and multilingual education. 2. Support undertaking analysis of and stocktaking good practices of inclusive education and multilingual programmes implemented by various partners. 3. Support development of a strategic note on inclusive education to address key disparities and deprivations faced by children with disabilities and indigenous children to inform future workplans and interventions. 4. Support development of at least 2 funding proposals to address key deprivations and priorities informed by the strategic note. 5. Work closely with MoEYS and partners in the development of blended in-service teacher training programme for primary school teachers. 6. Support the review and renewal of Inclusive Education Action Plan and Multilingual Education Action Plan. 7. Support preparation of programmatic reports including the annual report and donor re-ports. 8. Work closely with other programme sections to support disability focal point to coordinate cross-sectoral work on disability within the office and with regional office. 9. Conduct field visits to monitor implementation of inclusive education programmes/projects.

(ideally) or demonstrated interest in social sectors including education.

Experience in planning, coordinating, and implementing development projects;

Experience in evidence-based monitoring, reporting and strategic planning;

Previous experience as a volunteer and/or experience of another culture, (i.e. studies, volunteer work, internship) would be highly regarded.

The Office is situated in the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. In terms of living conditions, Cambodia has an appreciable standard with housing facilities in good conditions are available at reasonable prices, including security. All types of foods are available, including restaurants catering to different needs. Transport within Phnom Penh is readily available. The Risk Level for all of Cambodia is currently low.
