Marketing & Mobilization (M&M) is a global and diverse team that is tasked with building the IRC’s profile and brand, supporting the growth of private revenue from deeper donor engagement and partnerships, and influencing our target audiences. The team is responsible for all of IRC's brand, communications, creative and content and digital engagement efforts.

Reporting to the Chief Mobilization and Marketing Officer, the Associate Director, Strategy and Operations will lead the annual budget and strategy process for the CMMO team, working across functional areas, markets and departments. They will lead complex strategic projects, working closely with the leadership team, facilitating key meetings and driving meaningful team-wide initiatives forward. This role will deliver high quality results, use strategic and critical thinking to quickly structure problems and rapidly iterate towards evidence-based solutions.

This role requires excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, a high level of personal initiative and the ability to work well in a multicultural, dynamic environment.

Major Responsibilities: -----------------------

- Lead the strategy process to define M&M annual and multi-year strategic goals, in alignment with ER strategy, and how to achieve them as a cohesive unit - Lead the budget process, coordinating across the leaders in M&M to develop cases for investment in alignment with the M&M strategy - Support the M&M team in complex operational related initiatives (e.g., adjusting structures based on growth, effective prioritization across initiatives, etc) - Support organizational change efforts, including developing communications and processes and ensure socialization across CMMO department - Ensure and implement timely reporting of data showcasing the team’s efforts and results - Collaborate with External Relations department focal points to develop detailed, data-driven strategic and operational outputs with a focus on learning and prioritization - Collaborate closely with and provide support to members of the team as needed - Have your finger on the pulse of department challenges and opportunities and senior leader goals and concerns - Lead and coordinate large, complex strategy projects, with minimal direction; scope the project, be solution oriented, and surface and resolve roadblocks as they arise - Promote a positive, collaborative, and efficient working environment where team members enjoy working with each other, and feel inspired to grow and develop in new ways - Work with the CMMO to manage the Department Manager and ensure a smooth flow of information, expense management and “infrastructure” team materials, including onboarding decks for new staff and monthly team newsletter - Work with CMMO on conceptualizing and execution of all staff meetings, team retreats, and more

Job Requirements: -----------------

- Approximately 6-8 years in strategy, consulting or operational roles - Experience driving decisions and alignment across many partners to pursue opportunity, resolve tensions, and promote cohesion - Strong organizational and time-management skills; attention to detail and ability to prioritize against multiple cdemands and deliver at a fast pace - Experience in running large-scale, cross-functional projects and complex budgets. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to distill lots of information into a compelling story with clear recommendations - Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels, especially senior leadership - Highly collaborative and able to work independently, in a dynamic, cross-functional global team - Ability to respond enthusiastically and positively to ambiguity, be resilient to shifting priorities and setbacks, and be comfortable with imperfect analysis and solutions - Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially Powerpoint and Excel - Passion for and dedication to the IRC’s mission

Working Environment: --------------------

- NY or DC based, but working in a hybrid environment with the option of remote work a few days a week. Needs to be available to work on an EST US time zone.
