Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located within the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), Baghdad. The incumbent reports to the Chief of the Development Support Office.

Responsibilities Within delegated authority, the incumbent will be responsible for delivering results related to the following duties:

- Analyzes, engages and supports the development and monitoring of the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework and UNAMI’s mandate in the country. - Supports UN agencies in their Working Groups, in particular as regards to strategies for advocacy and engagement with national stakeholders. - Liaises with UN agencies, relevant departments of the Government, international donor community and civil society. - Monitors, analyses and reports on trends in the UN’s evolving programmatic strategies at location. - Drafts routine and ad hoc situation reports/briefings and meeting minutes; coordinates administrative processes. - Other related tasks as required.

Client Orientation: Considers all those to whom services are provided to be “clients” and seeks to see things from clients’ point of view; Establishes and maintains productive partnerships with clients by gaining their trust and respect; Identifies clients’ needs and matches them to appropriate solutions; Monitors ongoing developments inside and outside the clients’ environment to keep informed and anticipate problems; Keeps clients informed of progress or setbacks in projects; and Meets timeline for delivery of products or services to client.

Education Advanced University degree (Master's degree or equivalent) preferably in business administration, management, economics or related field. A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Work Experience A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in coordinating development activities in national governments and at the international level is required.

Previous experience in coordinating development activities in post-conflict countries and/or experience in international organizations or peacekeeping operations is desirable.

Work experience in Iraq or the region is desirable.

Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.

Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
