Role Summary

We are looking for an Associate to integrate a team of government advisors in Kyiv, Ukraine. The successful candidate will play an instrumental role in supporting TBI’s project in the country, across critical policy topics for governments.

This is an exciting opportunity requiring exceptional candidates who have experience working for public sector clients, a can-do attitude, an appetite to make an impact, versatility, and comfort operating in politically complex environments. The Associate will report to a Senior Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Associates will have the following responsibilities:

  • Support TBI’s role in delivering strategic direction, policy advice, and delivery of projects to our government counterparts, spanning a broad range of topics and fluctuating over time, such as climate, healthcare, media, economics, government organization, governance processes, foreign policy, etc.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses and advise on key policy topics and international developments as needed to support the client’s policymaking and decision-making on priority projects and enhance the government’s ability to respond and adapt to global and regional trends.
  • Engage with client counterparts for data gathering and establish a relationship of trust with counterparts, as a go-to person for analytical abilities.
  • Engage and work in close cooperation with the TBI team.
  • Produce and own sections of presentations and reports destined for senior government leadership

Person Specification

Academics and experience

  • Between 2 and 4 years of experience, ideally in public sector consulting, with a track record of effective project delivery.
  • Previous experience with digital transformation or AI is desired but not a requirement.

  • A proactive, self-motivated individual with a passion for achieving impact.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality work, and ready to put in the necessary effort to achieve this within imposed deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, think strategically, and produce deliverables, with attention to detail.
  • Good written communication and executive reporting skills, including concise written PPT decks and reports, are an advantage.
  • A proven ability to collaborate with others, including people from different backgrounds and cultures.
  • Fluency in English is required. Ukrainian language proficiency strongly preferred.

Client and environmental awareness

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentational skills; able to quickly establish TBI’s credibility with the client
  • Ability to operate within sometimes sensitive political contexts and be attuned to potential areas of conflict or tension. Apply sound judgment in all external engagements on behalf of TBI.
  • An awareness of international relations trends, particularly in Eastern Europe.
