Assist in project planning and implementation in agriculture and livelihoods.

You have:

  • Bachelor Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics/Agribusiness or agricultural extension with 2 years experience in relevant fields.
  • Diploma in agriculture with 5 years experience in climate smart agricultural production, agribusiness, economic empowerment.
  • Experience in coordinating multi-sectoral projects.
  • Experience in working with partnerships involving county governments, civil society, donors and local community structures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to work with a diverse range of people.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Implementation:

  • Implementation of all the livelihoods & resilience activities in Kakuma in collaboration with the Project Officer Livelihoods.
  • Stakeholders engagement including the target project participants in undertaking the planned project interventions, while maintaining the World Vision ethos.
  • Team up with the Project officer to enhance coordination with respective government and private partners to ensure synergy building and joint execution planning.
  • Support the Project Officer to provide effective, innovative technical support ensuring integration for synergies with other project intervention

Quality Assurance - M &E, Reporting and Documentation:

  • Supervise and monitor project interventions in strict adherence to agreed standards
  • Together with the project officer undertake regular project progress review meetings with staff and communities
  • Ensure relevant project data is captured, validated and updated in the approved DM&E system.
  • In Liaison with project accountant, track project implementation expenditure levels, manage work plans and budgets

Advocacy, Engagement, Partnership and Networking

  • With support of the project officer Livelihood and the manager, work with respective Sub County & County Governments to leverage on financial and human resources to enhance synergy for project sustainability.
  • Participate in forums at the Sub-County and Ward levels as will be appropriate or as advised by the project officer
  • Enhance partnerships with government and private partners to leverage on technical capacity development for farmers, extension support, inputs, financial services and market access

Required education, skills and experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Agriculture, Agricultural Economics/Agribusiness, agricultural extension with 2 years experience specializing in climate smart agricultural production, agribusiness, economic empowerment or
  • Diploma in agriculture with 5 years experience in climate smart agricultural production, agribusiness, economic empowerment
  • Experience in coordinating multi-sectoral projects
  • Experience in working with partnerships, including county governments, civil society, donors and local community’s structures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, and ability to work with a wide range of people from different backgrounds
