You have:

  • A high school diploma is required.
  • Limited relevant working experience, preferably in affixing stamps on covers is required.
  • Experience in working in a philatelic oriented business is required.
  • Good knowledge of UNPA philatelic products is desirable.
  • Good knowledge of postal rules and regulations is desirable.
  • Good manual skills to handle stamps and other philatelic products is required.
  • Professionalism, client-orientation and responsibility is required.
  • Flexibility in working days is desirable.
  • Good knowledge of English and German is required.
  • Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.

Work Location

Home based at UNPA Order Filling Office, Vienna International Centre, Wagramerstrasse 5, 1400 Vienna, Austria.

Expected duration

2 April - 20 December, 2024.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Mail Operations' Supervisor and the overall guidance of the Officer-in-Charge, UNPA Europe, the contractor will assist in preparing materials needed for the filling of orders in a timely manner and put together order batches/stock movements as required. Other duties include the affixing of stamps on First Day Covers (FDCs) according to the agreed upon sample, assisting in peak workload assignments required to meet critical deadlines and other manual work like collecting stamps and philatelic deliveries from the receiving area, sorting and arranging them in the appropriate stockroom.

• A high school diploma is required. • Limited relevant working experience, preferably in affixing stamps on covers is required. • Experience in working in a philatelic oriented business is required. • Good knowledge of UNPA philatelic products is desirable. • Good knowledge of postal rules and regulations is desirable. • Good manual skills to handle stamps and other philatelic products is required • Professionalism, client-orientation and responsibility is required. • Flexibility in working days is desirable

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, good knowledge of English and German is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.
