Assistant Infrastructure Design Engineer
Result of Service The consultant will be responsible for supporting Infrastructure Design Engineer, Design Unit, HQ Gaza to form design duties (calculation, modeling, drafting, quantities take-off and BOQ/specification development) at Design Unit - UNRWA HQ (Gaza) according to UNRWA’s policy and procedures.
Work Location HQ Gaza
Expected duration - The duration of the consultancy is 6-11 months with the expected start date of beginning of Dec 2022; - Remuneration for this consultancy is based on grade 12 with monthly fees start from $1,259.40 depending on the qualifications and experience of the candidate - The incumbent will be based in Gaza.
Duties and Responsibilities - Assists in and carries out design of sewerage, drainage, and water systems. - Review plans, checks calculations and prepares progress and design reports. - Assists in site supervision. - Assists in and prepares cost estimates and tender documentation and reviews tenders. - Assists in and prepares projects proposals. - Assists in preparing standard design procedures. - Assists in preparing technical specifications. - Coordinates design and planning activities with municipalities and other relevant authorities. - Keeps up-to-data for preparation of cost analysis. - Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: A university degree from an accredited educational institution in Civil Engineering. Experience: Essential Experience - Minimum of two years’ experience in design of infrastructure components and use of computers in design. Experience with design using Bentley System especially WaterCAD software. - New graduated engineers are encouraged to apply for the job but not earlier than 2016
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
- Strong reporting skills.
- Ability to use Outlook, Excel and Word application.
- Good knowledge of the application of computer in project Design and management
Possess of a valid driving license. Language: Good Command of spoken and written English.
